    Hi TW,
I picked up my first Taco about a year ago and have been browsing this site for a few months now. Thanks to you guys I've been able to do a number of small projects on my truck to really make it mine. I just want to say that this is a wonderful and helpful community and I've learned a lot about our trucks in a short amount of time. Thanks!

    Now onto my truck:

    Mods:
    • Bilstein 5100s front and back
    • 16" Pro Comp series 69 wheels
    • 285/75R16 Kenda Klever MTs
    • JVC stereo w/ BT
    • Kicker speakers
    • Uniden Pro 520XL CB radio
    • Little Wil magnetic base antenna
    • Light bar :D

I purchased my 2001 4x4 TRD 3.4 V6 Tacoma with 200,000 miles on it in March of 2017 after deciding that it was time to upgrade from the ol' 1994 Ford Ranger. She served me well through high school and college, but it was time for something new(er). I found the taco on ebay and drove a couple hundred miles in the snow with my dad to pick it up. As soon as I saw it roll up I was in love.

It didn't take long for me to start making it my own. I picked up a new JVC stereo with bluetooth and some Kicker speakers from Crutchfield so I could bump some tunes and talk hands-free while in the car.

After that I added a couple other things like a CB radio and a ScanGauge II.

The last thing I did to my truck was replace the cup holder retainers with rubber. The old ones rotted out.

Needless to say, I love my truck and I look forward to driving it for many more miles and many more years. I just wanted to introduce myself and I figured the first gen forum would be the place to do it since I spend most of my time here. Thanks for all the help you guys have given me!

How do you like your light bar mounted that far back? Just curious because I see most people mount them right above the windshield.

    Good lookin rig!

Thanks! I like it a lot. I don’t get any wind noise on the highway and it still lights up the woods great at night. I’ll have to move it forward if I get a roof rack in the future though.

Looks pretty good, welcome to the wallet weight reduction plan. It's gonna be a great and hopefully fun adventure. Now get it out into the woods!
Another Sunfire Pearl Red? I can't tell for sure since I'm surfing on my phone.

I’m looking forward to it! And I’m pretty sure it was repainted a darker color because you can see the original paint around the badges and door handles.

Surprisingly not. The guy I bought it from took off the mud flaps and I’m not sure if he had to bash the pinch weld or not, but I get no rubbing at full lock
