    Nice truck!
A lot of aftermarket items are personal preference. Just get what functions well and looks good to you. If you're just looking to level, Bilstein 5100's are a popular choice, or just run spacers if you're not planning to off road much. Tacoma options are almost endless and you can really get sucked into certain categories. Searching the threads on here are very helpful. Toyota made a great truck with the 2nd Gen Tacoma in stock form. The more mods I added, the more maintenance I go through.

Stock (99.999%) OEM Bed Floor Mat, Front Bed Rail Cargo Net and hooks, Auto-Dim mirror w/Compass and outside Temperature display, TRD Pro Grille, Uni-Filter air pump modification, WeatherTech floor liners f/r. (winter) OEM All-Weather floor mats (summer).
Three years of ownership and flawless shifting on my now 10-year-old, SR5's 4x4 "garbage" drive-line system during the 30k+ miles I have driven it so far. Nor any service history related to it in the extensive maintenance records I have. Current mileage: 136,000. It shifts reliably and quickly between all modes with no drama. Heat, bitter cold, snow, muck, and deep in the woods where no one is coming looking for you for a little while. Never worried about it. YMMV

Upgrade the head unit, add your running boards and maybe install a Heritage/Pro grille insert: Then walk away and leave it stock. Already a great looking truck just as it it stands now.

Thanks! Any recommendations on where to purchase the running boards and grille?

I bought mine from these folks. Very nice reproduction and if it wasn't for the absence of the Toyota markings on the back, I couldn't tell the difference from OEM Pro grille. It fit the OEM grille surround perfectly. Lot of choices for places that sell running boards, but I would buy the low profile OEM ones which bolt right into the factory nuts in the frame.

Where are you located? There are OEM running boards all over my local Craigslist. So many, that I might not even try to sell mine haha.

Sorry, opposite coast. California. I just searched Raleigh CL and it was dry, no luck. Just search all the nearby areas.

Just keep it stock! I regret modding mine and would love to have it stock again. The radio upgrade is probably the only thing worth while. Steps are useless on a midsize truck unless you are under 4'11"!

    Great looking truck BTW!!!
