    I've had my 2017 TRD Off Road Double Cab Long Bed for a little over a year, but since my old Yakima bed rack doesn't fit my Tacoma bed I haven't taken my kayak or canoe anywhere since I got the truck (they're sitting at my camp right now, and I'd like to go on a couple canoe camping trips this summer).

    I'm looking for something mostly for carrying 1-2 kayaks or a canoe. I've looked at Thule bed racks that have clamps for mounting to the Tacoma bed channel system, and I've looked at roof racks that use the holes for the OEM roof rack (was leaning towards the Prinsu Design rack).

    Any recommendations for someone new to the Tacoma World? Pros/Cons of roof vs bed? I'm wondering what the current favorites are for someone less likely to be mounting overland gear. Apologies if this has been asked a million times.

    We've got a Prinsu - we got it to carry our canoe while camping, specifically to be able to carry the canoe forward of the back of the truck so the trailer can still be hooked up;

    I've had to raise the rear mount because of the rocker of our boat - but that's to clear the very back of the canopy.

    Pros; It's awesome, looks great, and carries around my maxtrax when not camping.
    Cons; it's tougher to get the boat up there - you cant really slide it on using the bars like I've done on other rigs.

    Thanks Mike, the Prinsu looks like it would work great for me. I like the idea of centering the boat over my truck, I've always felt they stuck out pretty far when I used a bed rack.
