image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Just purchased my first Tacoma this past week...have been wanting one forever, but never wanted to pay the prices everyone wanted!!

    2002 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner Xtracab 4x2 V6
    163,000 miles

Pretty good condition...especially for 14yrs old. Interior is in excellent shape. Exterior needs a good compounding and wax, but no rust anywhere that I have found. All paperwork for maintenance done. Engine sounds excellent.

Think it was great deal...paid $4500

If the frame is rust free and the driveline has been regularly serviced (fluid changes) and PM work done (timing belt, etc.) you have a real winner at that price.

Even if it costs you a couple large to baseline everything to make it a 'needs nothing' mechanically, you're still golden. Good find.

As far as I can tell everything is in order. The PM work has been done, new timing belt and water pump, brakes, fresh brake fluid and coolant change all at 158,000.

Gonna have the oil changed this week and give it another once over. Definitely think it was a very good find.

Excellent find man! Welcome to the forums, you've got a great truck there. Just be careful how far in you get with these forums. They cost you money.

sheesh... i sware, im jealous of everyone here. you all have really nice looking houses and im semi-stuck living in an 800 sqft condo. on a 28k/year income i can only afford a 120k mortgage, and non crap/neglected houses here all sell for over 180.....

I know it's not a 4x4 but that price sounds outstandingly good.

Very nice truck. Those wheels and the side steps look great against the black paint.

Thanks, I really like black vehicles. In fact our car and our SUV are both black as well.

Yeah I thought it was a reasonable price as well. KBB put it at $6300 for private sell...which I thought was on the high end for the age, miles and it being a 4x2. Seller was a family friend who bought it brand new, so I know it's been taken care of pretty well. He originally wanted $5000 for it, but managed to get him down to the $4500.

I also had an 05 taco prerunner that I was less than 3k from paying off when I got into an accident and totaled in 2013...... other person rammed my side and was 100% at fault.... i got $20,380 for it and only paid about 26k in 2005. tacos retain their value.............

Looks like it was well cared for - not a 4x4 but still a great price I think.
    Well done!

Damn. Great price. Out here in So Cal that truck would have run you around 8500. At least.
    Good looking truck! Congrats!
