    Hey Everyone,

Just picked up a 2014 Tacoma SR5 and this will actually be my first owned truck. She has 89,000 on her and just took her in for a full vehicle inspection, as far as I can tell its completely clean and bone stock.

Any info on this model or anything to watch out for as far as preventive maintenance? I've done alittle research but just wanna see what everyone has to say as I was alittle iffy since she has 89 on her.

    Welcome to TW!!!

cut up your credit cards and throw your wallet in the river. You can not hold this website or the owners of amazingly awesome Tacomas responsible for what may happen to your truck.

Wow that's actually quite the build thread, didnt even know it exisited!

I'm mainly gonna start off by saying I dont quite plan on doing any lifting or serious off roading. I'm gonna stick to light dirt roads basically enough for camping or going out shooting. Probaly light hauling in the future and such.

Thanks! I kinda lucked out alittle was I initially look at a Blue 2013 with a TRD package but when I went to look at it, the dude was like well for some reason it wont get into 4WD, but searched around and even though this one had higher mileage it looks way cleaner!

That's what I've been reading, I picked her up for $22,000 so I'm gonna be paying on her for a couple years. I just wasnt sure if like some vehicles I'm gonna be ending with some pricey A$$ repairs in the next 50,000 miles.

I really wanna just take it on adventures up and down the west coast with ease.

Frame rust is the main preventative issue with 2nd gen Tacomas, but since you're on the west coast (we don't salt our roads much) it shouldn't a big deal for you. You'll want to keep an eye on that, but otherwise these trucks don't have many issues.

Yeah...that's what I'm hoping for, I picked her up with that in mind lol, as far as rust on the frame any specific spots? I've done a pretty thorough look. The only rust I've seen were the hatch locks on the canopy and noticed leaks on the canopy divider window, but no big deal there.

90k miles I'd look at spark plugs and your cabin air filter as well.

    I did mine @ 100k. (Yes, I know that’s a long time)
I just did a drain and fill.
Didn’t want to chance anything stopping up the Valve bodies with a full flush.

You probably should do it before that, like 60k.
    Maybe less with heavy towing.
