First thing I did was new wheels. Shortly after that I color matched the grille (which you already have) and the silver interior trim pieces and also blacked out the emblems (thinking about debadging now though).

Window tint, de-badged the tail, painted the side "Tacoma" emblems black.

    Things to do:
Replace the TRD sticker with a new one I bought here, buy larger tires, blacked out rims, and a 3-4" lift

    New wheels and tires
I Recently purchase a 2011 Tacoma SR5, 6 speed with only 29K miles. It came with the standard 16" steel wheels and still had original Dunlop tires (245/75/16) on it. First thing I did was buy a set of 2017 OEM TRD wheels and a set of Good year Wrangler Adventurers (265/70/17). I also found a set of 3" Nerf bars (Runningboard Warehouse) and put those on. I also got underneath and cleaned up some of the surface rust and repainted undercarriage. Truck came out looking really good and updated (see pic).

You just have to get used to the fact that the mirror sits a couple of inches higher then stock, and adjust the angle of the mirror a bit, that's all.

1st purchased: Weathertech liners, tinted front windows, bed mat (Craigslist), OEM steps (my son/wife need them), all in the first couple of days.

Flipped the rear view mirror upside down.

    I agree with you completely.
Bed mats definitely on the to do list. The trucks on the tire's were pretty low, luckily wife was supportive enough to allow me to pick up a set of rims/tire package from discount tire. Ended up being a little above $1K with $290 in rebate savings. Included mounting , balance, new tpms, and lugs. I got the CAI as part of the upgrade instead of adding a drop in and to hopefully help save some gas.

What does flipping the rear mirror upside down do? Mine has a back up camera- wouldn't the effect it?

Not a fan of the "Altezza" also. What do you think of these? Not dead set on whether I will go this route yet or even change it out. Pretty satisfy with how the factory looks overall.

A bit too "contemporary-trendy-copycat" for me, but I'm old.

Why do all new cars look alike--especially the front-ends but really all over; there is no elegance, just gaudy trendiness. The "taker-of-the-cake" has to be that ghastly horrid front Acura has burdened their cars with. To me, when I see one coming it looks as though it was in a crash and pieces are missing...

I just went with a set of the '08 housings...

You're right that probably was my absolute "first thing", the rear headrests went in the barn the day I got it home--took a 6" off the ridiculously long front flaps a couple months ago:

First thing I did was slightly bigger firestone destination MT tires. I was working for firestone at the time so I got the whole set for 28 bucks.

Just moved the mirror higher and out of my sight line. I don't have the camera in mine, as it's on the screen in the dash.
