I'm pretty sure none of our trucks will go faster than 110mph (governer)

The 4 cylinder 5spd 4x4 is a solid truck. Is it fast? No. But it will take you everywhere you want to go and will not skip a beat. I have a little over 20K on my 2016 and am very happy with it. Even with larger tires, full skids, sliders, a RTT, and upgraded suspension it takes me everywhere I need to go.

The 3.5L is bad enough. I couldn't IMAGINE the 4 cylinder. Hell maybe the 4 is better.

I can do 80. Under 3k rpms. Uphill. It's geared perfectly. And if this makes v6 faux Atkinson people butthurt, fuck em.

I don't know of any v6 owners who are butthurt over your choice of motor. I can't actually think of any v6 owners who even think of the 4 cylinder.

Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
Turbo guys think about I4 alot, especially when were custom fabing crossover pipes:bananadead: but again like i said, the 2.7 has forged rods and i think its the same block as the rz series and they take boost very well. Someone on tw is planning on a 500+ hp 2tr fe build

Only read first page so if I missed something sorry.

I have had 2 four cylinder tacos, both great. Went with a 6 this time, because the taco is our camping vehicle, and I needed to go double cab for my almost/early teenage kids. So I lost a foot of bed space and knew we will need to pull a trailer more often than before. And when I pulled in the 4 cylinder, it hated me and sucked up the gas, not to mention dragged ass big time. Thus the need for a v6, and manual is a must, thus TRD model. In my opinion even with this new "weaker" engine, it has more guts than the 4 ever thought it had. Even pulling the 6 will move.

So if you are going to keep the truck for a while, and are sure your needs won't change, get the 4 and you will be happy. Or be like me and get the 4 only to trade it way before you need to go upsize to the 6 when things change.

Alright so if you plan on keeping the truck forever, get the I4. The power is there. It's better materials, better build process (small Japanese hands.). There's only 4 pistons, but they're bigger and stroke longer than the 6. It has an iron block. It's stupid simple, and has no weird shit doing weird shit. No ticking. No self cleaning. No high speed fuel pump chirping. Actually, even if you only plan on keeping it for a year, get the 4. Only get the 6 if you need to tow... something.

Those people are cray cray. Once someone starts making my truck payment, then I'll care what they think.

You have to go up to TRDs to get double cab manual trans.

    Almost what he said below

    112 or 113 if I recall correctly.

I'm not sure where your going with this. I don't remember what it actually was, as most of my focus was on the road and haven't been able to test again. But it was just over 110

op has limited funds and not towing. you will be fine with the i4.
I've had the i4 and it will tow if you have to. i pulled an extended van
with 8 people up a mountain once, also a few small trailers.
the v6 is faster but if you're not in any rush and want and engine
that will last and is easy to work on then the i4 is for you.
I went with the v6 because it was the only truck available and
i was tired of fixing my silverado literally every week.
it was tired and only had 123k miles on it. i tried to support
american cars and trucks but they just don't last like the toyota.
