I figured it was time to introduce myself.

My name is Rob and I've browsed TW for years, never creating an account until my wife and I started halfassed looking for a Tacoma. We have a 3rd gen 4runner (OME springs, Tundra 5100s all around, 255/80 Open Country AT2s, TBU, BudBuilt skids, etc) but we needed something with a bed to haul off trash, throw the dogs in after the lake/beach etc and felt like the Tacoma was the ticket .

I found this double cab listed in the TW marketplace and sent the seller a PM. My wife and I were headed to DC that weekend to celebrate our anniversary, so little bit of planning, a quick (6 hours) detour and we had ourselves a Tacoma! Drove it 3.5 hours to DC, then 6 hours home with no hiccups other than a CEL for the fuel cap (new one is enroute).

The truck needs a few things, first the camper shell needs to go (I hate it), needs front shocks (5100s ordered), needs the TBU, missing the headlight trim (ordered), valve cover gaskets and it'll be good to go. It just received a new frame in January of this year and the PO put on 265/75r16 ST Maxxs 4k miles ago. The rockers are a little rusty, but Camelback sells new ones for cheap, so I'll order them summer time and install them.

Current plans are to keep it fairly mild and just enjoy it until we need to upgrade to a Tundra.

    The list so far is:
    5100s all around
OME 881s up front, undecided on the rear leafs
Install a hitch (removed during frame replacement)
    Basic maintenance

We go to Uwharrie in Troy, NC fairly regularly to wheel, so if you see a couple of 3rd gen 4runners roaming around there (with a jeep in tow), definitely stop and say hey!

Looking forward to some adventures and some forward progress on this thing!
