Wow. I dump 12 quarts of oil out of my jaguar, into the same pan and haven’t had this problem. Then again the Jag uses 20-50, kind of like pouring honey

I'm in between moves so I don't have any of my shit. My oil drain hose for my stalhbus and my normal oil pan etc. Got a shirt soaked with hot oil. It was supposed to be a quick change in preparation for a long drive today. Didn't pan out well

    Ahh. I hear you.

It's all good, I tried to do a quick coolant change on my girls car the other week and I should have removed the under skirt of her car and I didn't. The drain hit the skirt and was coming out under the car in 4-5 different places. Fucking mess.

    Good luck with the move!

I have the same pan, cut the top out and it will work like others have linked or install a fumoto which does a good job restricting the flow

An African swallow, maybe -- but not a European swallow, that's my point.

Samething happened to me last month haha. I had to take a shower after as my upper body got drenched. :anonymous:

I installed my fumoto valve though so it’ll be a lot easier to make adjustments when draining.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
You can get these even cheaper if you do the Advance Auto 'oil change' special. You get the pan, funnel and gojo or hopefully enough towels to mop up what the OP did. Then again when I drain mine, I always aim for the hole :bananadance:

Yes. I got the deal at O'Reilly's or they may have still been Schucks? Many years ago and probably $10 total? It was my first roll of blue shop towels and have been using those since.

The Amazon price surprised me.

I never do an oil change without covering atleast the whole front half under the truck. EVERY oil change it always splashed out everywhere until enough stayed in the pan to dampen it. I just used one of those pan containers for the first time and it also happened to be the first time it didnt splash more than a couple specks. I'm sold on em.
