I have a 2003 Tacoma double cab 3.4 V6. My problem is my speedometer doesn't work. The Tach and other gages all work. Mechanic tried to fix the problem by replacing a couple of things but that didn't work and he suggested it might be the instrument panel. Does anyone have any ideas other than an instrument panel. And just in case does any know of a place that rebuilds them.
Sorry for the long-winded request and thanks in advance.

Welcome to Tacoma World! I suggest putting the same post in the 1st gen subsection with a title like “2003 speedometer not working” You will get way more looks and someone probably has your answer. This post will probably get a few “Welcome to TW”. Good luck.

Need to check the Vehicle Speed Sensor for Power on Pin 1 (Black/Red) and Ground on Pin 2 (Blue).

Signal wire (Pin 3 (Green/Red)) is best checked with an oscilloscope but can be checked by backprobing with a meter and rotating the driveshaft slowly, voltage should alternate between 0 and 11v.

If that all checks out then the issue is with the speedometer itself.
