So for now, stuck with my Patriot. On a side note, in the market for a Tacoma!

Did you just say it was listed on eBay?

After you said it is legit because this site doesn't allow scams?

    Cuz eBay is scam central.

No, it was posted on Craigslist, where many people find cars. Seller told me she was allegedly selling through eBay. Last time I ever go about using this system.

Wasn't aware of that. I've been a long-time user of eBay and always had good experiences with them and even had them alert me on a few scams. Noted.

EDIT - ah, I see while I was typing this you came to a conclusion.

But I'll leave this here anyway since I already wrote it:

If you still find your self wondering - ask this.
What would you do in the seller's shoes?

Selling a vehicle by remote is an incredible hassle. Shipping bids. Arranging a carrier. Long distance paperwork.

It's sometimes worth it for *RARE* vehicles that sell at high cost. For example, if I want to buy a that 12 cylinder beautifully restored Jaguar XKE of my dreams - I'm probably looking nationwide. But the buyer's looking for over a hundred grand for that vehicle.

Small pickup trucks in good condition are a hot commodity in every local market. The buyer could have that thing sold yesterday simply by listing it on craigslist at double the price. If, due to emotional trauma, she couldn't possibly look at the truck any more - she could have a close family friend complete the sale for her. All she has to do is sign the pink slip first, and a trusted friend can do everything else.

The *only* reason to bring remote shipping into the picture is if the vehicle doesn't actually exist and you're trolling for suckers from outside the US.

    Second only to Craigslist dude.

If you can't touch it, and you can't see it, don't worry about it.

And I couldn't find it either when I was first told about it being originally posted on eBay. A red flag went up right there for me. But as I said earlier in the thread, I came to TW to determine if this was too good to be true. And it was.

It wasn't for the fun of it. I have better things to do. I came here legitimately seeking advice. Think of it how you will, though.

The "seller" emailed them to me. There were also pictures on the original Craigslist ad where I first saw the "car"

The picture is annotatedScreen Shot 2015-09-19 at 8.10.00 PM.jpg

Those same pics & price were posted on Baltimore craigslist, It's a scam! I did purchase my 04 tacoma TRD for $500 but it was towed to my work with a blown motor, dirty interior and a owner that wasn't interested in fixing it. Deals are out there but $1550 for that truck pictured in the ad screams SCAM!!!

new Jeep patriots are frowned upon in the jeep world. They are a soccer moms suv and should of been branded as a dodge.
