So I just bought a 2020 Tacoma Off-Road and I'd like to get a Leer 100R. I put in a quote on their site and got an email back from two dealers, one wasn't very helpful but the other was. They sent me a quote and it looked good, a little more than I expected for a camper shell, but okay. I decided to check out one of their locations and get a quote for a 100XR, but changed my mind and went back with the 100R.

The issue I have is that the very first quote shows the 100R $1698, then I got a quote for the 100XR at $1896, and I was told this included my military discount (I did not provide my military status on the original quote) and all future quotes will show that, but then the SECOND 100R quote still shows me at $1698. These are base prices with no options yet, but it leads me to believe that either the first quote had it as a salesman method of getting me in the door, or there's some wiggle room in the price.

All of this to lead to my question... Is it normal to negotiate the price of a camper shell? Or is this a normal accessory that you're expected to pay full price of the invoice for?

Also, I've built out a quote for a very similar model for ARE and submitted it to 3 more dealers. I got my truck for 9.98% below list price, so hopefully I can get a camper shell for cheap too! (Assuming that's the game)

I'm in Missouri, got a quote for $1800 for the same 100xr. Plus or minus a few hundo, you're in the ballpark. Caps are really hot right now so I would not screw with it. Mine was going to be 6 weeks out, so I built my own for less.
