Hello, I’m new to this entire thing. I’ve never considered modding anything in the past till I got my Tacoma and the first major mod I wanted to do was wheels and tires. I’ve got a 2020 TRD Sport with 265/65/R17’s and was thinking of dropping the wheels to 16’s for bigger tires and was wondering what to look for in my research/completion of this mod.
    Any advice is appreciated!
    Thanks I’m advance!

You have other options in the 17"wheel size. 265/70/17 will fit and so will 255/75/17 which is what I run. Mine is a 32" tire and it fit on stock suspension. I'm sitting at +2" now but kept the same tires.

So many choices. It really depends on the look your going for and how much work you want to do to make it fit properly. Find something you like the look of and go from there. Maybe post a pic of the look you want for reference and you can get some help on what it needs if anything other than bolt on. 285’s (roughly 33” depending on the tire brand) would most likely rub, especially without a lift or other mods to trim. The offset will also play a factor in rubbing. Like the other guy said though, you get many more options in 17” wheels. Look forward to see where you go with it.

I appreciate all the advice. As life happens I've had to change up my plans for now as I need new tires sooner than expected. Keeping my current 17" wheels but going with these Mickey Thompson 265/70/R17's. Just love the look of them and reviews were good too.
