    Howdy Folks,

Just wanted to post up after taking my Tacoma down to the Texas Coast and driving along the national sea shore. It was my first time to use the truck's 4x4 and had a blast! We drove down to the 15 mile marker where we setup camp, and then cut over to an area known as Laguna Madre.

It wasn't majorly deep sand, but 4 wheel drive was definitely needed in a few spots and it felt awesome be in a Tacoma. I had to turn traction control off as it kept engaging especially if my tires came out of the ruts, but once that was off I had some real fun and the truck did great. Never once was I worried about getting stuck even if I stopped in soft sand.

I also couldn't help notice how many folks were out in Tacomas, FJ's, and Tundras. Another awesome thing was how many of the Tacoma owners would  as they drove by. I only got one shot while we were there, but my dogs definitely loved being in the truck instead of our Audi Avant :D

    thanks for reading.

I love driving on the beach. We go to Hatteras, NC all the time to visit family. The Tacoma has never let me down and we always have a good time.

Just a tip in case you didn't know. I usually go down to about 18 PSI. Traction is much better in sand and prevents rutting. Only pain is you have air up afterward. Not usually a biggie.

I'm from Corpus and the Tacoma 4x4 is the PERFECT on the beach because of the weight. When I was still living there I would just got back and romp in the dunes. Good times.

Thanks man. I honestly wasn't too sure what PSI to drop down to so I left them alone this trip. Airing up is no biggie; just time :)
