First use of new truck as a... truck

Brought my elderly father in law (91!) to the local Lowes to pickup a new load. And proceeded to install for future loads.

Do you have a bed mat?
If you did you wouldn't have to tie anything down.

 

Thank you. I do but it isn't a rubber mat so it could potentially slide as I go quickly around corners...

I love my OEM bed mat except when sliding lumber into the bed.

 

Rubber mat is great. Also a bed extender is a good add.

 

It wouldn’t be too smart to not tie that down
Get into some type of wreck and then have that slam in the back of the cab.

 

Least of your problems if you get into a wreck....

 

Or go flying into another vehicle or building's occupants like the ceramic projectile it would become.

That would be a 'manly' feeling as you surveyed the scene post-event, wouldn't it...

 

Sometimes you just have to drop a load…..
