If you want "classic" Vegas, Fremont Street is cool, and inexpensive....but it's a ways off the strip. Don't waste $$$ on your room; there's better things to spend it on (and I don't mean gambling...those magnificent casinos aren't built because they LOSE money).

Check out the dam...take the more expensive tour...it's worth it. Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire are very cool, if you like nature. The Grand Canyon is less only hours away...like rafting?

Historic route 66 is along the way; see it before it's gone forever...lots of kitsche and touristy places (my fave is in Hackberry, AZ), and old-fashioned restaurants, with real soda-fountans, like in the 60's, and some of the best-tasting (but bad for you) burgers & shakes/malts EVER.

Any buffet is worth it (though I'm partial to Planet Hollywood and the new one at Caesar's Palace).

I never get tired of watching the fountains at the Bellagio, and it's different every time...and best of all, free. Even if you don't stay there, Fremont Street at night is fun, and also free. Siegfried & Roy's secret garden, at the Mirage has all their big cats plus dolphins. Not free, but a nice, relaxing, change of pace.

That ought to keep you busy...have a great, safe, enjoyable trip...bring back lots of pics to share...
