Welcome! That's a nice looking truck. The 22R is one tuff motor.

First motor I ever built was a 22R(E) in my 85 4Runner. Put about 1k miles on it, then my dog and I drove the northern route cross-country in November. Picked that truck up for $700.

Thanks. I'm having a hard time looking for one with no rust or very little rust to work with.

Nope. I got rear ended and my tailgate was irreparable. People directed me towards a fab shop and part finder. Loving this forum so far :)

What hilarious about your post is that the second owner restored this Pickup for his wife, and the wife didn't want it because it was manual.

Hopefully, if I'm not totally broke and I can afford parts I'll start a build thread. I won't do anything crazy to it, I promise.

Bummer about the hit. Did you keep the gate? Got any pics of the damage?

Nice truck! Is that an old crystal door handle for the shift knob?

Amazing color too. The whole thing looks sooo clean!

I’ve already blown our money & went into overdraft ....
Patience is a virtue, or so I’m told ... haven’t had much in a long time.

Thanks! You bet it's a door handle. It makes an annoying rattle so it's going away eventually.
