Ha. I guess that is true... well fine.

Part of me wants to throw the clear lenses back in them for TN, but then I remember how dusty the main road is at that park...

I feel you on that. The drive to TN took for ever. I left at 4:45a ran by Jakes house to pick up the TW banner for steven(1hr detour) and didnt make it to the park until 9:15p our time. It was only supposed to be a 12hr drive. The weather made me take 2 detours from the highway being closed and the rain forced me to travel slower than I normally would have. After 5 days gone the pup was sick of being in the truck and always on a leash or lead. He was happier than I was to be home and I'm still trying to recover from the trip today.

Yeah my dog was the same. What was the highest elevation you guys got up to? If you know... or @ETXTacoma if you know.

I ended up getting altitude sickness pretty bad after spending too much time above 10,000 ft. I think that 10k is my limit before i start getting sick. I went all the way up to 13k, but then tried to camp around 12k and that is where i got sick....

The highest elevation is only around 3.5k at windrock park. I think you start risking altitude sickness around 9-10k. I'll stick to camping at much lower elevation. I went up to 13k a couple times when i was in CO but never stayed there for more than an hr or 2 or even hiked more than a few hundred feet so I never had any problems. I could tell it was harder to breath.

I was up there for a couple hours before i got sick, but after i got down to 7,800 ft it took a couple hours or me to get back to normal, and even then i was a little touch and go. It sucked and ruined the rest of the trip for me. I will have to go back for the alpine loop another time and i will just have to make sure i camp below 9000 ft and i dont spent too much time above that!

Looks like a lot of fun man.

Colorado is on my list of places to go. But that list is constantly changing on what is the next trip...

Bro i dont know what the fuck it is. And i am not going to be that guy with an oxygen tank on the mountain, unless it Everest!

Just need to limit my time above 10k and drink lots of water or move there and acclimate to that shit! The only 2 real options...

Actually i am about to start working on my cardio so i can breath better, hopefully that will help! I noticed that fit / active people dont seem to have a problem...

As long as we get really good pictures... I don't care. I can even see if my Power Wagon friend that lives in CO wants to join and show us all the cool spots.

Brings back memories of big bend on that hike and being so out of shape... and it hitting us so quickly when we started climbing.
