This is why i always run a hitch in my truck.

LOL OP shit happens, if this is the worst of your problems yall are damn good off. Chalk it up to expirence to ALWAYS turn 100% around before you backup (even though you have a backup cam) and look where you are going before the truck moves.

The bumper on the dodge is easily repairable, and leave the dent in your truck... its what a bumper is for haha.

I'm just glad it was only a Dodge and not anything of real value.

Guess that would have been the easiest thing but I wasn't about to tell my dad that when he was in hulk mode. You won't like him when he's angry. :D

Nah really we almost had it off trying to drive the pin through but it was just still hanging on slightly so he just got a little mad and hopped in the truck and gunned it. Guess he just wanted it done quick

That's exactly what I wanted to say to him. The first thing I though was oh well at least it's the dodge. :) I love hating on dodges. One of my best friends has a dodge and stuff on the inside and actually outside too is always tearing up.

On a serious note I'm ctually very impressed with these new dodges. His is a 2015 and gets great gas mileage, was cheaper than most Chevys and fords and toyotas of the same year model, and drives really nice and is really clean on the inside. Really like it. I mean I think I'm gonna be driving my Tacoma for a good long while (still gotta go through medical school so doubt I'm gonna have any money for a new truck) and I might even stay a Toyota guy when I'm older. I've always seen myself driving a Chevy when I was older but after being on this community I think I could stay a Tacoma or maybe a tundra. Idk I kind of got off topic but oh well guys. Great experience and maybe I'll look behind me next time ;). Catch ya'll later:headbang:

Looks like he did less damage pulling it out like that, then you did going in :p

Glad it worked out though, could have been way worse! Use your camera. It's there for a reason.

You're right. At least now I can say maybe he did some of that when he yanked it off :bananadance:. Yea should have learned my lesson the very first time but I'm too hard headed.

I'm the same way, I first thought. Why the hell would I need a camera?? I haven't had one for 15years. Why now... Well when I almost backed over my tailgate, I understood why. :)

Man, I was expecting some good blonde jokes when I read this.
Seriously though, start using atleast one of the three chances you get before backing up to see if there is something behind you. Have a bad habit of not doing it? Just imagine if your dad had been back there checking his tire pressure.

Guess so. Probably would have been a better thread if we did have some blonde jokes on here:). I'm pretty sure I learned my lessons this time. Won't happen again...hopefully

Retrospect....but another way they probably would come apart would be to lower the Taco...ratchet strap the axle up to a crossmember to lower it and drop the ball a little. Try that next time maybe.....

Appears it would have been rather difficult to get a lug wrench in there:

@StateSavage, I give you a lot of credit on how you've handled this thread. Most would have been severely butthurt by now.
