Well I installed the D29XLs in my dakars yesterday with some help from @doreydeluxe and @YoungGunz . As usual, I didn't take any pictures but the install was super simple and straightforward. The only hiccup I ran into was a cross-threaded U-bolt nut that decided to cross-thread halfway up - I have no idea how that's possible, never seen it before. Had to cut off the top bit of the U-bolt, with the nut stuck halfway onto it.

For now, since half the threads in the nut were good, I just flipped it over and screwed it back halfway down on top of some washers so I could actually drive home, and when my replacement U-bolt comes in I'll take pics and post them up here. Other than that, stoked with my rear springs again!

Thanks @inv3ctiv3 for the tip on these - I hear a lot of guys run them, but it always helps to hear it from someone you know, and a truck you've seen.

Big thanks @YotaDan at Wheelers Offroad for the quick delivery of the replacement U-Bolt! Nice and shiny now:

With the extra leaf added, I'm sitting about 4inches off the bumpstops now, with about 5-6 inches of uptravel.

Here's the nut that cross-threaded halfway off. You can see this half of the threads looks good, and about halfway down it starts to get funky:
    IMG_3818.jpg

    Had to cut it off:
    IMG_3819.jpg

You can see the threads coming out are totally fucked:
    IMG_3821.jpg

And here you can see how it is somehow coming out slightly crooked:
    IMG_3822.jpg

Now I have a couple extra U-Bolts and nuts for good measure!

West is kind of a bummer now unless you just want to splash in puddles, but I'm down to meet up! I also want to come down one of these weekends to check out the shit show at azusa canyon

Haha don't come until after February for sure. Working 7 days a week right now.

But Sunday's are when it is a real mess! We will have to take a grill up there and enjoy the show.

I'm down to grab a beer in SB though!

Yessir! Before I adopted her from DAWG, she was actually in training with SBCSAR as a S&R dog, but she didn't "pass" because she had a short attention span...They brought her back to DAWG where I lucked out and found her. Now that she's a bit more mellow, we're training her to intervene when an anxiety attack occurs (for my wife).

Thanks! Kind of funny that her and I were both "rejected" from SBCSAR... I guess neither of us have the necessary attention span
