I will try using power pro, I use other brands. Like I posted, this happens (to me) with lures only which makes sense.

I was surf fishing today and it happened again throwing a surface popper.

thats strange because I cast senko's and all kinds of lures with my braided line and rarely have a mess up. once the line starts to wear out I usually re spool. what are you using for rod/reel combo?

It doesn't matter what rod or reel or combination of, it matters what I am throwing and how it's retrieved.

Copy that. I use spinning reels exclusively. Today I was using a Tsunami 5000 on a 9' Ande Tournament Surf rod heavy. I lost about 20 yards again today throwing a 2 oz buck tail with a 6"grub

    I ha
I usually end up re-spooling once a season. Pike twist up the line and you end up cutting it and after a few catches you get down to little to nothing left on the spool...LOL. But I stick with a good 20lb test at least. I did get a spool of 30lb test awaiting the next respool :)

All of these open water pictures are making me itch to get back in the boat. All of the lakes up here are still locked up with ice.

we had a successful day, me and my wife caught multiple 2-almost 3lber's, I caught the big gal of the day right at 3lbs...She caught more than I did but I caught the two biggest today. I missed a really nice one that I think was blind as stevie wonder. The bass flipped out of the water trying to get my senko, hit at it 2-3 more times and failed to even come close to hitting the senko and getting hooked. Thats the first time a bass flipped out of the water when I was fishing. I did have a little one jump but that was after it was hooked. This was quite a sight to see...

I like the uni but it sometimes hangs up a little bit on the connection. I may however try to use the hitch knot tip like at the end of the video and see how that works also.

Had a great day this morning in the rain. I caught the biggest trout I’ve ever caught before. May not be a monster but I’m damn proud! Caught 3 altogether. One decent size and two bigger ones.
