Got myself another new rod today! Had a bunch of gift cards laying around for bass pro, so I got myself a fenwick hmg travel rod. I have a few travel rods already, but I needed something in the medium/medium light range.
The fenwick is a dual tip rod, so I can have either a medium or a medium light depending on what tip I put on. Perfect for my upcoming road trip to mount rushmore. We have 2 camp sites that are on lakes, and I didnt really want to bring my nice st croix rods for a few hours worth of fishing.
I put an old shimano sahara 2500 reel on it with 10lb braid, that should cover me for 99% of the fish ill be catching with that rod. I do want to get a new reel for it eventually, but for now that reel will do just fine.

Looks like there a lot of good prime day deals on Penn reels on Amazon today. The battle series is awesome.

Im starting my reel arsenal entirely of non anti-reverse reels. I’ve never used nor understood the purpose of this switch. All it’s done on my reels is break.
The Daiwa MQ series has no anti-reverse. I’m guessing Penn has a non ant-reverse series as well

Yeah, that'd be the battle series. Im pretty sure a bunch if their lines don't have the switch as well.

I have lost my damn mind!

I bought my first BOOJIE rod reel combo. I’ve caught a lot of fish on the rod already, but the reel just came in. I introduced them to each other this weekend. I’ll fish tomorrow.

rod is a Megabass X-bites, and reel is a Daiwa Zillion. This is my light tex-rig and weightless worm set up. It’s light and so stupid sensitive. The poor fish. If it falls off my kayak, I’m swimming for it.

I’m headed to Old Forge, NY next week, staying along The Fulton Chain Lakes. Any tips on lures/tactics to use is appreciated. I’m a saltwater angler…

Those guys on the other side of the country kill the smallies with the Okasira screw head and the 3” spark shad.
