Depending on if I am in the boat, kayak, or bank fishing depends on how much gear I bring with. I have a fanny pack (my Scottish friend laughs at me every time I say it, fanny pack in Scottland mean Fupa) But I use it just for ultralight trips. I need to build something for road trips. Something I can bring a bunch of things in a wide variety since I wont know what conditions I am fishing until I get there. Thats why I want to build this bag.

I ordered some EVA foam sheets, going to try to build the frame of it and then use my "handy stitch" to make a crude cover for it.

i just ordered a Jigging World Nexus 2.0 XH for my October deep-water (300+') rockfishing trip. Looking forward to an electric reel, too. the last
deep water, i think we were fishing like 450'

I have an original Nexus and was generally impressed with it. so we'll see if the 2.0 is any better or essentially the same. either way, the price is low enough to have 2.

Yessir. Good shape this late. I just kept the bigger ones. Bet I caught 40-50. Slow rolled that beetle spin about 4-5’ deep.

Local scheels has a claw game for rapalas, its not super rigged either. They stocked it with rip stop jerk baits and skitter V topwaters, well the long lures actually get stuck in the claw even when the claw doesnt lock. Ive gotten 9 rapalas out of there out of 16 tries ($3 a try). But with the long rapalas if you grab them right in the middle with at least one arm of the claw, the rapala box will rotate so the top of the box hits the top of the claw and kind of locks itself in.

So, now I have a bunch of ripstops and skitters to try out... the skitters might be a bit big though, they are the 5.25 inch ones, so I might have to save them for my yearly ocean trip. The ripstops look great, mostly perch and firetiger, but should do well.

don't you love it when you order a casting / conventional model, ie NEX-701C

and they send you a spinning model

I just realized from your post, that they were even more off:

    i ordered a NEX701C-XH
    and got NEX701S-MH

These order pullers need to learn that every number and letter in the model number means something specifc for the rod!

One time, I ordered a Bass Pro Fish Eagle 2-pc 10' salmon rod, which has a green blank, for $70. I received a St. Croix Mojo Inshore, 1-pc 7'11", which was also green... but was priced at like $200 or something. I just kept it.
