Me and my bud are going to check out some Jacksons at the dealer today. Hoping they have last years model as well because I’m not a big fan of the 2021 colors.

That is why I bought my Kilroy at the beginning of last year - I didn't like the 2020 redesign.

Search online. Mine shipped to me from Virginia for only $99 bucks.

Yeah Austin Kayak has shipping for $125 and 15% off accessories. Got my eye on a Bonafide RS117. I can get out the door with a yak, paddle and pfd for under 1500 including shipping. Got some time to decide cuz its 8 degrees here ug.

ive had my pedal drive for a few years now. I take it out a handful of times a year and only added some grease once to the gears. No issues so far.

I'm on my 3rd Hobie. I can say that Hobie is very good to their customers. I have had to deal with Hobie customer service twice in the 11 years of owning their brand and each time they made me satisfied. I likely would have bought the Vibe Shearwater 125, if it was available at the time I was looking to purchase. I didn't want to wait another season so I bought the Compass. The Vibe Shearwater is a nicely designed kayak, and I would love to try out their seat.

Thanks! My next kayak and first pedal drive will either be an Old Town Sportsman or Native Slayer Max

I would guess he cut the bottom off another crate and mounted with hinges. Had a friend who made crab traps this way.

Looks like the top is counter-sunk into the box. Cool nevertheless

Yep Professor D is right. There’s a gazillion videos on YouTube about them. Super easy took 30 minutes not counting the minutes I was staring at it dreaming of being on the water catchin’ fatties.

Honestly I’m useless when it comes to building stuff. So to be honest I’m not even sure what “counter-sunk” means lol. Nevertheless you are right it is cool. Love anything homemade that’s a cheaper alternative to buying.

With it being February and being in mass and not having safe ice until about a week ago. Boy do I sure miss catching fatties.

I looked the 2 kayaks up and they are both nice looking! which one are you leaning more towards? I have a Manta Ray Propel. I think it was a collaboration of Native Watercraft and Liquid Logic.

I'd want to try and take both for a spin first and see how it feels. Dealer near me sells Old Towns and Natives so shouldn't be too hard to get a test drive. I almost went with an Old Town for my first kayak before I got my FeelFree Moken but went the less expensive route. Either way, would have to save up, 2k+ is pretty steep since I don't plan to sell my Moken.

It’s rad. The dude who he bought it from was super cool and an avid kayak fisherman. He had this NuCanoe that was super tricked out with LED’s everywhere. Inside, outside, red, green on outsides, blue inside. But the slickest thing of all was his anchor. I’ve been looking for something that’s not a claw because I think they’re a pain in the ass. Something along the lines of a kettlebell but the heavier they are, the bigger they are. Also, there’s no good attachment point. Then I came across a downrigger weight and thought that would be good but not the most ideal attachment points either. Plus a lot of them are shaped like a fish.

    This guy figured it out.
Introducing the, I mean Da Bomb Anchor.

    8646DB43-FD2C-4B34-829B-701844DDB1FF.jpg

6 lbs. of anchoring goodness. Fits in a yakattack cupholder. Any color you want practically. Powdercoated. Brilliant if you ask me. Gave us a few stickers as well.

    E785F9BD-CE02-4F4B-A554-0634D5C464A8.jpg

So now I have everything I need to kayak fish except a kayak haha. Soon mon, soon.
