Where would that anchor be used? I anchor up in the Delaware Bay and I need a substantial anchor, a ball shape will not hold.

We’ll be fishing farm ponds and small lakes. Nothing like what you’re doing.

Good news. Got a kayak. Pick it up tomorrow.

Got my kayak down the other day to start installing some of the stuff I got over winter.

I installed a flag so people can see me better on the bigger lakes. Installed another deck port in the front so I could move my battery and fuse box up front (All my weight was in the rear, now I have battery up front and tackle/wheels out back)

I also installed a usb charger, volt meter, and 3 switches.
I need to figure out what to hook up to the switches.
1: live well lights, 2 in the rear storage, and 4 near my seating area. These will be wired right in.
2: waterproof flush mount plugs in the front and in the back. These will be on relays for higher current. I figure if I have just plugs, then I can put spot light in the front, or mount a light pole in the rear, or what ever I want really. Just need to plug it in and go.

I am also going to install a solar charge plug behind my seat so I can get a panel to keep my battery topped up during the day.

I've got an Old Town Predator 13 that I'd love to run some power in, at least for my Garmin and a USB setup. Can you post pictures of your battery setup, did it need relays?

This is really the only picture I have, but the battery is held in place with duct seal (its a sticky putty) Power and ground go into the fuse box, then out to everything. You can see the main power switch in there next to the fuse block. The battery is to the right with the battery clamps on it, those are just for charging, there is a 2 pin SAE plug soldered to the battery that provides power to the fuse box. I mounted the box to a small piece of plastic that is then just duct sealed down to the hull.

The only thing I put a relay on was for my spot lights since they draw more power. Everything else can run right from the switches. My fish finder is wired right into the fuse box, so no relay needed there.

I've been looking for a used hobie Outback around the southeast if anyone might have any leads? There is a 2019 for $2300 local I may look into. I have a 2011, but want to upgrade and have one for my son to fish out of.

That’s a good price provided it has everything. I paid $3500 for my 2019 new...

    condition: excellent
    length overall (LOA): 12
    make / manufacturer: Hobie
model name / number: Mirage Outback
    propulsion type: human
    year manufactured: 2019

    2019 Hobie Mirage Outback Kayak

    $2300
    Color: Ivory Dune

    Used only 3 times
Garaged so is in excellent condition except a dent from when it was shipped.

    Bought from Amazon last year.
    https://www.amazon.com/Hobie-2019-Mirage-Outback-Ivory/dp/B07HPG9CGV

With the dent, do you think it would still be worth $2300? Probably doesn't leak and more than likely pure cosmetic.

I finally installed my 700 watt microwave on top of my Ridgid crate. I had to add a power inverter and additional 10AHr batteries to increase the AHrs of my 12 v supply. To improve the weight distribution, I moved my Dakota Lithium battery arrays to the forward pontoons of my BlueSky Boatworks Angler 360.

I had to separate the batteries for the ProNav and Garmin electronics because of the initial power draw when starting up the microwave.

Lunch will nice and hot this season. And on cold days, I can heat up some gel packs and stuff them under my shirt. I love fishing in comfort!

Where are you fishing this kayak? I try to keep mine as light and minimal as possible. I would not take your microwave kayak in the ocean or even a large bay like the Delaware Bay...
