    Hey guys.
So im trying to figure out a good system for carrying my fishing rods. I dont have a roof rack and dont really want one. I have one of those universal ones that strap on if I really need one but it is noisy.
I usually slide my rods in 2" pvc pipes attached to it to travel with them but Im trying to figure out something different.
I have a cover on the bed for keeping things dry , so no go there.
Anyone have any good ideas? Maybe mounting something to the front bull bar? Bed rack that still allows me to use the bed cover?

    Thanks

I have been thinking about this also. I have a DCSB with hard tonneau cover and was thinking I could use a few light weight bungee cords to hold the rods on top of the cover. Hook the bungee on each side of the cover, reels/butt end of the rod against the back window, and tips pointed out back over the edge of the tailgate. Two, maybe three bungees should be plenty to keep them from moving.

I carry 10-13ft surf rods in a few configurations. Mostly up on my roof rack with ski racks, or on my surf rack which slides into my front hitch.

how is the wind on the rods in the front hitch carrier ? I thought of mounting a holder to my bull bar but worried about the wind.

I use Yakima powderhounds and rigged something up with an NFAB bar on the front.

Just fine, I've driven 5 hours and up to freeway speeds like that. If the rod is light or moves alot in the holder, I just wrap a mini bungee around it.

Not sure if you can see but the fishing rod holders behind the rear windows are attached to the bed rails. Get them on Amazon for $20
They have white and black and also more rod holders than 3

T nuts fit perfectly in the rails

I made this with a cargo carrier and 4 of the rod holders that Texas 2252 mentioned above. Use it on my golf cart now to get rods to the boat, but if and when I go to the OBX again, I'm taking it.

Y'all with your creative options. I just sling mine through the rear window through the cab. Holds 5 rods and three people perfectly fine. Until the seat gets hooked.

Not gonna lie, the other night I shut the garage door and my 12ft had some overhang. Snapped 10inches off it so my dumb ass is looking for a replacement

Always over hang those long ass rods over the engine hood.

I learned that lesson many, many moons ago. Lol

It usually wouldn't matter for me, but I was squeezing the truck in with the rack on the front. Only a few inches to spare on both ends, I just didn't look up to check clearance.

Oh well, didn't like that rod anyways lol
