are you lifted? is the wheel the OEM one? do you know your backspacing?

those are the more important items that need to be known to properly answer your question.

You misunderstood the question... He wants to know if it's physically possible to mount a 285/75 on a 16x7 wheel -- not if it will clear...

OP: I had 285/75/16s on a 16x8 with no issues.... I've heard of them on 16x7.5 with some aggravation.... 16x7 will probably mount, but give the installer a headache...

Check the tire manufacturer specs. Some tires will allow 7.5" minimum but I haven't seen 7" though.

You should be fine. Just remember when offroading that your tire WILL have a weird/uneven bead, so dont do anything too crazy ;)

Since the wheel opening will be bigger than the recommended wheel size the bead will amost bow inwards. Due to the lack of room for the bead to lay on the wheel lip properly.

17x8 I think is the stock Sport rim size.

And Im running a 285 on Sport wheels as well.

sport tire is 7.5, your gona get some serious cupping if you go 7.5-7 on a 285 MT. ATs you might get a way with it, but I'd get different rims or 275s
