i have mine set to 3 minute mode and i've not had any issues. I had an issue where my videos wouldn't load up so the guy at fitcamx sent me a version in "developer mode" that worked. There was a recent update that fixed the issue i believe.

I ordered mine direct. Use code CAM566 and should get 6% off last time I checked.

Just installed and formatted the new SanDisk Endurance 125gb sd card and it appears to be working correctly

Has anyone tried using a larger sd card?
On my Blackvue, max is supposedly 256gb, but I have a 512gb in it with no issue. Was able to track down a hit and run one month back (didn't notice the damage until I cleaned the truck.)

I just installed mine; fits really well, looks fantastic and took all but 3-4 mins to get it installed. Trickiest part is getting the wiring harness to sit nicely before snapping back into place.
Any issues with the included SD card?

I’ve had the Fitcamx on for almost a year now, went with both front and rear, no issues.

installing the rear cam was a bit challenging. The difficulty was they provide only a man adhesive pad to mount the rear cam and I couldn’t find a good spot to stick it. Didn’t want to apply the adhesive pad directly to the headliner. I ended up finding a a cable bracket and sandwiched the head liner and used the metal of the bracket to attach the rear cam with the provided adhesive. Worked well, only issue was in the heat of the summer it got warm enough in the truck for the adhesive to let go. Had to stick it back in a few times.

I have a FITCAM - works great. I had to re-format the disc to twirk-out the twirks - it wouldn't record. Every time I turn on the car, I go into the app and make sure the cam is ON and my app / phone connected. It records without the connection as well. But when my app is ON and connected, if I have to download a file (3 minutes in my case), it is quick and easy. Easy install. And no cable salad. We have one for our Corolla as well.

I’m waffling on the always on collision monitoring whilst parked option. I hate add-a-fuse connections and I often think about how I’ve accidentally left my map lights on overnight a few times so I know there’s constant power to the center of the headliner already. Why hasn’t anyone pulled the battery feed from there for the camera setup for the always on option? I can’t be the first to have thought of it, I’m not that clever. What am I missing? What haven’t I considered?

I considered this option for when I was shopping around for a dash camera set up. Ultimately for me it came down to the cost to get an overall effective/high quality system for my truck purchased and installed. Fitcamx can do it, but I don't believe it was designed to be a must use option for this camera system. Once you start hard wiring a dash camera into your vehicles power system, I believe a stand alone battery pack is a must to avoid unintentional power draws or other issues. I love that the fitcamx was plug and play, along with the OEM finish. Also, I ended up deciding that I don't need my trucks surrounding activities to be recorded, and that the high price tag to do so was not worth the benefits. I just park far away from everyone else now lol

    My 2 cents

Mine stopped recording readable files so its basically useless. I'm trying to get it sorted out but China tech support is way out of my normal operating hours.

Those that mention needing an update, how are you doing this (app, computer/sd card)?

is using the app required? Or just easier than pulling the ss card and using a reader. App reviews lean more negative.

has anyone thought of hiding the sd card slot in some way? Prevent possible tampering or is it not really a concern to you? Looking more in depth before pulling the trigger

I like my FitcamX - just in the front. I would want wireless for the back (I have a Leer Shell). But that's a drag because we all have a camera already in the rear. Right? So I just bought a "ANYTIME FRONT AND BACK Camera setup". The front cam needs to be installed at the grill below the Toyota logo, and wired to the computer, and then there will be a switch on the left dashboard area where you then can turn on the camera front or back and look front or back anytime you want too. So back to the Dashcam issue, it would be much more practical to program and equip the computer with the recording "anytime" and "all the time" because those cameras are there anyway. While I am not able to do this myself, I am sure some people out there are.

Here is my fitcamX 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport 9 9 4.jpg
The only problem I see with it is that to make sure it is running and in operation correctly I need to turn on my FITCAMX app on my phone connected to the computer of the car. If caught the camera recording system not functioning at times. And needing to download a video file and not finding it because it didn't record anything is lame. A few times already I was on the road already for an hour or so and then looked at my dashcam file and couldn't find any recordings for that day. This never happened though when I loaded up my app first thing after starting my truck. Always works.

You can look by rear view mirror and see if blue lights are flashing. If no lights. Could be a different firmware. I’ve never had an issue..

I’m running a 512 card as well. I just didn’t have a 128 on hand, still need to get one.

A larger than supported card will not do anything better. It’s really just a much larger card than the processor can fill. It doesn’t help, but it doesn’t hurt operation either

Bought and installed in my 2022 SR/SX. Great for piece of mind, especially with all the distracted drivers out there.

I got rear ended last week and my camera worked perfectly. I didn't have the actual collision on video since I don't have a rear cam but it does show me stopped and then lurch forward when I got hit. Super easy to quickly pull up my phone and save the recent recording. Discount code CAM566 still works too.

Late reply sorry. I reformatted the Samsung card that I was using and it seems to be operating fine now. The manual actually suggests to format the card every 2 to 3 months, I didn’t see that originally.
