    Hey Everyone,

I'm looking at getting a '17 or '18 TRD Sport 4x4 or OR DCSB. I measured my garage and I have:

    Depth: about 220" being safe.
    Door Opening Width: 94"
    Door Opening Height: 82"

Will this thing fit? I've seen different numbers online but I THINK it will. The short bed at least. Any insight / help appreciated!

Thanks. So I'd say thats a yes? Just seeing if others have a tighter condo garage or similar.. .and their experiences. Like am I missing something with door angles/ whats a safe space to leave, mirrors, etc.

Well no one is going to make a decision for you HaHaHa. But looking at what you wrote and the specs on the Toyota site I would say you are fine. Every dealer I have ever worked with has let me test drive the vehicle and some have even let me over night. Ask the dealer if you can go park it in your garage. I doubt they say no.

Like the previous post, I agree you should test it in the garage. When I made it clear to the selling dealer that I was buying from them, and the only questions were AC v. DC and LB v. SB (length of truck), I drove my preferred option to my house and checked it out in my basement / garage. Turned out the biggest issue was vehicle height, as it just squeaked under the garage door opener. Width also a concern, as my passenger side mirror just barely misses my furnace, located in the basement / garage. Glad I tested, as I didn't want to have to return the vehicle to the dealer post-purchase for garage-fit reason.

I faced similar issue and went off specs only. Got er home and realized I hadn't worked in the hitch bike rack that's generally attached to my taco. Also, two bikes on a wall hanger. She fits just barely but I'd mirror earlier comments and test drive in your space to make sure you'd be comfortable all around.

'Yeah' on relocating the garage door opener, but not a lot of clearance in the basement / garage of my 110 year old house, so not sure if that would have been practical. BTW, I also did the "run into the opening garage door" thing with my Gen 2 back in the day when I was less cautious. It was at the very end of the purchase process that I realized that the Gen 3 was longer, wider, and taller than my previously owned Gen 2.

If I pick one up soon, I'll make sure to see if I can test drive over to my place. From numbers alone though, Its looking OK, but tight.

I personally don't think a test is warranted (or practical). I had the same concern when I got my DCLB. I went to the dealership with a tape measure after measuring the garage space. Mine literally fits with about an inch to spare. I put a choc of wood on the floor and when my front tire hits it, I know I'm in. I bought by truck a year and a half ago and this has worked every day for me, just fine.

Height would be your biggest concern.
Especially if you got a canoe on the roof. Guarantee that wont fit through the garage door... :transformer:

Jesus I consider myself a somewhat smart person and I have no idea why I never came up with doing that in my garage:anonymous:

I'm in the market and looking for the right 18 OR, I am in a rental condo with a 7'2" Garage but also looking to buy a place and the buildings I like in my area all have 6'7" (79") garages. This may limit what I can do to the taco, I want to have roof rails with various attachments (which obviously won't fit) such as Canoe carrier, SUP holder etc. I would put those attachments on when I use them outside. I also want to get a 2 inch lift and affix some slightly larger tires.

Interested in Overall height for various set-ups if people don't mind chiming in.

I have my motorcycle either behind the Taco or in front depending if I am riding or not, so tennis balls and wood blocks won't work for me. I use a front camera and a mark painted on the floor for the left front wheel. Spray paint rubbed off quickly, but some leftover Flex Seal has been great for many months now (about the only thing that I found it was good for).

If I am riding, I align the tire with the mark and roll forward until a chalk mark on the front wall just about disappears from view. If I am driving, I just align the Taco with the mark on the floor.

I already had a scrape on the fender flare in the first week trying to judge the position.

Also, with the Taco in the garage (our first truck), things got extra tight. I got some of this:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LWIYT2V

The 1/16in thickness is all that is necessary. There was enough to do the left wall for the Wife's car and in front of the Taco for both the bumper and the bike's side case and non-folding mirror.
