I have this instead and it works great

Of course I've only had it a few months so I can't attest to it long term.

I think if anything is going to be the down fall to the camera is the app.

I’ve had it installed for about 8 months, so far so good. I got the one with the rear camera as well. I like that it is plug and play and looks stock. Trickiest part was running the wire for the rear camera, wasn’t too bad though.

I just ordered one and I also like the plug and play. Does it continually record

If plugged in behind the rearview mirror, it will automatically start recording when the ignition is turned on. You can get a hardwire kit to have it record all the time, even when parked. Check the firmware on it. Mine had to be updated for the loop recording to work. I found out a couple months later that it stopped recording because the card was full. They sent me the updated firm ware, and no more issues.

It’s great, easy installation, looks factory and it just records whenever you drive, the card seems big enough for me, it loops after a few weeks. The view is still good, it does not obstruct too much at all to be bothered. I’d recommend it to anyone.

I have one in my 2019 Highlander. Totally plug and play. The video is excellent. Been in the vehicle now for about two years. Been thinking of getting one for the Tacoma but just haven't yet.

Where does this mount on the back window? I haven't been able to find any pictures. Is it possible to hide it behind one of the rear seat head mounts and still get a decent picture?

I ran the wire up in the headliner and have it currently hanging from zip tie stuffed in the headliner right at the back window. I got a belt clip I took off of a tape measure and am going to try to fasten it to that and slide it on the end of the headliner. It should be more secure, I think another member did it.

So if you look at your rear window, where does the camera mount? Left/right/top/bottom? I don't think I'd want a camera obstructing my view.

Top center. It doesn’t obstruct my view at all, it’s too small.
