It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
because it depends on the tires and alignment. different tires, even though they are all 285/70/17 can have very different outer diameters and widths. also the wheels make a huge difference, lift, alignment, etc.

be prepared to do CMC and trim fenders if you go with 285s. if you are going to off road, its pretty much guaranteed

    You guys covered it!
If OR- cmc, trim and smack those 285's in there!
I was also given the advice to do the lift, cmc, wheels and tires at the same time. I got excited and pieced it. Ended up going bigger with the tires...don't do what I did...a waste of time and mula

Load your truck up with mod parts and do it all at once!

I had a 2.5" lift on mine and 285's. I had trim a little piece of plastic and that's it.

Yes, they even cleared off road and no rubbing. :)

It's all in the wheels and the alignment.

Crossing my fingers that will be my case. If not, I'm slowly starting to accept that a few "chopping" mods will be made.

    Good luck!

If you end up doing the cmc yourself it suuuuuucks. Previous gens were so much easier.

With my new setup I've had to a major cmc and it still rubs enough to stop the truck. Haha

285's are not the same across the board.

It's all about the offset, need to push the wheels out.

Because of the ray10 offset, you will very likely have to do a good bit of trimming for 285s.

This is with ray10s, duratracs, icons.

Pushed out wheels can actually increase rub. It may push off the control arm and the cab mounts, but too much (e.g., ray10s) will place the edge of the tire right on the fender well in full lock unfortunately...
