I drove on stock gears for a bit on 35s. You'll be okay for a little while. Since you're mechanically inclined just order prebuilt diffs from ECGS. Then ship back your cores for a decent refund. Then all you have to do is remove and install. No messing with the internals of the diffs.

This is what I did. Although I did before the 35's so wish I went one step more.

But everyone nailed it, CMC, Pinch, fenders, liners and the for full stuff ( i still need to) most need to cut the firewall so they stuff properly. So far I get some but have just dealt with the occasional rub at full stuff.

I really like that this thread did not turn into a shit show. The OP is a new member and posted he was going to mount 35s and had not done all the prep work yet. It was prime for shit talkers, but that didnt happen. OP was given advice and time to respond. Turns out he is mechanically inclined and took the advice. Oh, go cut my CMC before? Thanks for the advice, I'll go cut them back tonight. Anyways, thought that was cool.

Yep. Bring a friend for that diff swap. Bench pressing that front up at the awkward angle you need to get it in is much easier with two people.

def agree there. I did that on my own but would have been nice with a second set of hands. If you do end up solo have a board or thick cardboard and bring that diff down right on top. Its not too bad but awkward for sure.

KM3s?!? Dude, you’re not leaving the parking lot.

Bring a cordless angle grinder and multi tool saw.

    @Michael18099 few things:
    -welcome to TW
-if someone says go cut into your truck and you respond that you'll do it tonight? Well, welcome home. You'll fit in perfectly here.
    - OP = original poster
    - you can use the "@" symbol and start typing usernames to tag people
-lastly, consider or be prepared to ditch your spacers before mounting. They are going to increase that arc of your tires when turning and increase the likelihood of rubbing on your firewall. Personally, I'd remove them before trying to mount. Better to rub a bit on your UCA on your drive home than your firewall, cut and exposed cab mount, etc.

I’m on 315 k02s and have done major cutting and a full cab mount relocation.

It’s been a journey to get these things set up.

Oh yah I forgot I did relocate my cab mount too. Almost forgot about that. I am on 315 KM3's. At some point I will get some cutting done and tub the firewall and possibly more.

This is a rare moment in TW history, isnt it?

Anyone willing to cut up a brand new $30k+ truck to put bigger tires is okay in my book.

Update: So I ended up mounting the tires on before doing the CMC. (Please read post before judging me lol) I did this for a couple reasons. 1: The shop i ordered the tires from is closing early due to the virus and my work schedule prevents me from getting there. So i would have had to ask a friend or family member take the truck while I was at work, which is a hassle and not to mention I don't like anyone driving my truck. 2: I live a little over an hour from the shop but work just a few minutes away. So i wanted to avoid an extra trip. 3: I happened to get off a couple hours early yesterday which give me the perfect opportunity to get them mounted on. It only cost me a few bucks to get them mounted so i figured the worst that could happen is i have them take them back off and lose out on a few bucks. So I ran an extension cord from the power outlet in the bed of the truck and plugged in an angle grinder with a small cut-off wheel (yes i keep a lot of tools in the bed, ya never know) turned the wheels all the way and cut some slits in the pinch weld. Hammered the pinch weld with best i could with the wheels still on. Took a razor to the bottom of the front bumper and followed the same trimming pattern as i done for the 285's. Just more aggressive. Had the tires mounted on. After mounting, with the spacers still on the truck, i could cut the wheel a good ways before rubbing the cab mount. No rubbing anywhere else. I even stopped at Walmart on the way home and was able to pull in the parking spot and back out without rubbing at all. I had zero issues going home whatsoever. I guess i just got lucky and bought one of the easier tacos to clear bigger tires. I done the CMC when i got home and finished the pinch weld. Waiting to weld the plate on until I get it perfect. I took it on a trail behind my house. There are some pretty large rocks in a creek bed. Went over them no problem. The only place u rubbed was when going at a downward angle, I pulled the tires on a big rock with the wheels turned and pretty much tucked the wheel all the way. It is rubbing by about an 8th inch or a little more. So I am going to take a little ore off later today and try it again in the same spot. Will take pictures of the work later. Was too dark to get a good pic when I got done last night. So far, no regrets. Love the look. Power loss was nowhere near as bad as i expected, so im happy there. Still getting about 16mpg. Not bad for E rated 315's. So it can be done without the CMC first. I guess it just depends on the specific truck. My buddy had as much rubbing as i did with 33x12.50s on his taco. My truck has always been more of on issue rubbing on the front of the wheel around the bumper. So I think my wheels are a bit more forward than most. Working in the automotive industry, you would be surprised in the difference from vehicle to vehicle. Some manufacturers allow 25mm differences in length from vehicle to vehicle due to stack up tolerances on parts. Ive seen vehicles 15-20mm longer when measuring from the driver side vs the passenger side. So i'm not surprised.

I’m really surprised the tire shop mounted them on 7” wide wheels. Looks good though

I really need to get my 315’s mounted. I keep procrastinating on my cab mount relocate and BFH to the fender wells/pinch weld.
