Alright, I'm needing to know what else I have to do to make my 33/12.50/15s with 4in backspacing clear without rubbing. I have the 5100's all around with aal in the rear and 881 Emu coils up front, roughly 2.5-3 inch lift. I've already trimmed part of my fender closest to the cab, as well as trimmed out the pinch weld and cut the complete corner of the pinch weld out. The only place it rubs is against the driver side inner fender when turning left , as in, a little bit deeper past the pinch weld/ I guess part of the cab firewall? I have no rubbing elsewhere. I didn't think clearing 33s would be this complicated with a 3in lift. Any help is appreciated.

Should I go with 3.75 or a small spacer? The only side I rub on is the driver side when I turn left, everywhere else is all good lol. Cant really afford different wheels right now so do ya think 3.75 would stop it from rubbing the cab firewall?

If you haven't bought the rim, I'll go with 3.5

If you bought the rim already, 1" spacer

Alright I'll look into some wheel spacers unless I can do some trading, I've already bought the wheels. Now I have another question and I dont mean to sound dumb here, but how exactly does backspacing help keep tires from rubbing? Does it just push the tires further out so that when you turn your tires dont turn in as close to the fenders?

Yes. They make your tires stick out way far too. 12.5 wide is honestly too wide for these trucks imo.

Agreed, I got these for a good price so I figured I'd use em, when I change tires I'll probably order some 33/10.50s. Had any luck with 33/10.5s?

I think 12.50s look good on them as long as you aren’t running super wide wheels. I have 8” wide wheels and love the look but another guy I know has 32x11.50s or 33x12.50s on 10” wide wheels and the look odd.

Not personally. 33's will require a lot of trimming, even the skinny ones. Most here run 32x10.5. Im still on a stock size, but plan to go up to a 32" soon. I personally like to keep my tires under my flares, tires that stick out more than inch or so look dumb to me.

Here’s what I mean. Also depends on a lot of other variables. 3FB8F972-BBF7-4041-A6F2-42CD79C79691.jpg1FAF223E-A99D-4B5D-B65B-69A00EB26567.jpg

How are you liking the lift setup? I have pretty much the exact same thing. 5100s around, 881s with a 3/8” spacer, and progressive 1.5” aal

Compared to the cheap coilovers I had before, 100% better. I've had the kit on for about 3 weeks now and I'm loving it.

That red truck is not x10. It look more like x12 the tire sidewall look stretch instead of a small bulge like on a x10.

I think you’re right cause I know someone with a 15x10s on a ranger and it doesn’t like as wide as that one.

    This is probably worth reading.

    https://adventuretaco.com/what-size-tires-fit-my-lifted-tacoma/

Pushing your wheels out with spacers is going to make you rub on the fender (flare) more than you do now. By running 12.5" wide tires, you're exacerbating rubbing on both the inner corner and outer corner - essentially you have both "more" and "less" backspacing at the same time (see backspacing diagram in article).

As the article mentions, a body lift might be the best way for you to completely alleviate rubbing. That's the only thing that's going to move the wheel well away from your tire at all times (through the entire suspension cycle). At the very least, you'll need to use a hammer to bash the firewall a bit - that's necessary with even skinny 33's on our trucks (again, covered in the link above).

If you haven't had an alignment done that's likely all you need. Maxxing out the caster pushes the tire forward at ride height around 2" and gains a ton of clearance at the firewall. 33x12.50 is an easy fit with proper alignment. My go to setup is 35x12.50 on either 15x10 3.5" BS or 17x9 with 4" BS.

Currently running 17x9's and 35's with 2" of lift all around.

I also ran 33x12.50s on 15x10s with 1.25 spacers for caliper clearance as a temporary setup on my old truck. Minor fender trim was needed.
