Please don't put a headliner in this... It is a mortal sin to cover something like this up....

Lol... I think it will be more impressive to have a truck that you can’t even tell has a cage in it!

I agree with this. It would be kinda cool to do a panel that recesses just a bit into the areas around the tubes so it bumps out the tubes hinting that there is something I under the headliner.

Yeah nevermind it sounded and looked better in my head. Not bad but not as epic as I was thinking. If you wanted to leave the bars poking out just a bit upholstered panels in the spaces would be ok but I think it would be noisy and just looking lackluster after a while. Full headliner it is!!!!

Are you going to make a new/separate thread specifically for the slide rack & 934’s? I ask because I often want/need to look back at all of the details that you include in this thread but they’re all mixed in throughout. I’d really like to get both the 934’s and the slide rack even before I actually go LT. I’m thinking slide rack support and 934’s then 37’s & then LT (over the next couple years anyway)

You probably want to do 934s at the same time you go LT. Save yourself buying two sets of custom axles.

I mean, you can re-use the CVs, just not the axles themselves. Also, you really only want to fuck around with OEM outer CVs once in your life.

Agreed, I’m doing it right now. I ended up cutting the shafts close to the outer cv’s. Then rotating the star wheels around in the joint, removing the clip and pushing the shafts out of the stars. Shafts came out with no force at all

Was the clip accessible when you spun it around? The Tacoma ones are down inside the star. Took a 20ton press to get mine out both times

Tbh I’ve been fine with my Napa HD cv’s so far but I don’t have a front locker and I’m only on 35’s

Yeah, its right there. Basically by cutting the shaft next to the star wheel, you can just spin it right around to the clip side. It was all down hill from there. I used a cut off wheel and it took about 2 mins per shaft to cut.

Damn that’s nice. The Tacoma ones are still about 1/2” down inside the star.
