Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

    If you just use one uniball the shackle will move side to side which you don’t want. The double uniball eliminates this. The uniballs are also much more durable than bushings and don’t squeak

    Again the springs flex not the bushings. This is a design that we have used for 20yrs in the McPherson 7s truck we built. If you are relying on sloppy bushings to prevent cracking I’d reevaluate your design

    Makes sense! Can’t wait to see how it’ll turn out when you mount the shocks and bumps. Is all staying under the bed or will you cut the bed?

    Yes... 14” 3.0 bypass shocks will be completely under the bed, axle bumps out on the frame and will cycle 18”

    Could this theoretically work for a 63 swap? spring-over, not under. Bolt-on 63 swap would be a game changer.

    Spring over your would have to cut and weld on a new spring perch and set pinion angle. Thought about this a couple weeks ago when debating on if I want to do chevy 63s. Still doing research too, I don't know if changing the angle the leaf springs sit would effect it, also need to do more research mounting shocks inside the frame.

    Yeah, I mean I don’t mind the work for a 63 swap I just don’t know how to weld. I follow you on IG, you get some pretty crazy flex with the shackle flip. You’re on stock leafs too right!?

    There really is no point after the spindle and double shear are welded on. The custom spindle only makes sense if you go vertical uniball and then the taco hub still the weak point.

    Yeah stock leafs, haven't needed to upgrade till now. I'm getting some axle wrap and am trying avoid a traction bar. Still weighing the pros and cons of each setup so I'm not sure what I'll do.

    See now I'd be interested in this as a little more width and travel over the current one. I'm assuming it's pushed forward like your other one or maybe done a little differently?

    That’s what I had meant tbh. A spindle with vertical uniball and stronger hub. Something similar to solos kit but having all the little details @81Trekker is designing into his kits.
