Two examples of what to do with your plasma cutter:

    1). Work

2). Cut out a steel dong

Funny you mention that. It's a good part to have on hand. I had a buddy that snapped a TC +2" shaft on the trail in BB and we had to get the outer joint off the shaft while on the trail so he could drive home. Spent a lot of time and frustration getting that thing apart with limited tools/equipment but somehow we managed!

Oh, I feel you. Less maintenance, weight, limitations, etc for sure. Hell, I've currently got a torn boot that needs to be addressed. It's on the "to do" list. Joking aside, it's all based on application but I've always enjoyed the reassurance of having a "fun switch" as a contingency plan. Always in good fun though!

I don't recall reading a post that said one is better than the other.

I carry a spare 2wd wheel bearing for big trips to solve exactly this issue.

Do you have an extra set of star gears (inner race)? That’s what I had to save on mine, so after cutting off the axles to get the joint apart, I had to have the shafts lathed down out of the stars

I was able to source a whole OE axle for free locally which is why I called this one a loss. I’m going to mail axles to Harry and pay him for their assembly service. Let them deal with it.

    Too many to remember
I have plenty of inner cores right now, what I need are outer cv’s with 29 spline stars
