You guys with the lower arm pivots- what happens if you match drill the alignment tabs and decide you need to change the alignment for some reason? Do you have to patch the holes or do you have a couple of times before having to do that? Maybe some close up pictures would help me understand how it works.

Also, are you able to use JBA UCAs? Curious if the geometry from aftermarket UCAs negatively impacts the JD system. I’m thinking with the extra 1” forward from the pivots and 37’s would clear just fine after some tubbing above since I’m fully clearing 35’s now.

With the JBAs you'll be way off you have to get the low caster UCAs for the LCA pivots. As far as adjusting then redrilling that'll depend on how much adjustement had to be made if you'll have to put a little tack in the hole or not. But after it's done I'd suspect your alignment will be good for a long while compared to knocked out evertime you go wheeling with the stock garbage.

Good point. I lose alignment blasting my own driveway it seems. I think my tacoma is near the point of diminishing returns…I’ve been eyeballing 80’s yotas for a while. I don’t know much about what year is best, etc. but it looks like money goes a lot further for capability compared to the tacoma past 35’s and stock travel.

Good luck finding a decent one for a reasonable price then stay away from 4wheelunderground.

Diminishing returns is all to the beholder.

This is true. I’ve still got a lot of research to do and time to do it. I have no time to actually work on anything right now haha

I can sell you my 80’s Toyota truck... I’ve only got about $100k into it, they really are affordable:)

If you put 100k into a Tacoma would it be as capable? Maybe splitting hairs at that amount of investment haha around here that’s a good rock bouncer…

Karen Walker is one of the greatest characters, ever. As good as Lucille from Arrested Development and Mallory from Archer (both played by the GOAT Jessica Walter).

It would be identical to what I have now except with a Tacoma roof and doors

Yeah or more so depending on what you wanna do. Look up 6oh_taco on the gram. Guy we bumped into had 40g in his 80something. Your best bet is to find someones unfinished frustrated just wanna get rid of it project and go from there.

Exactly, 100k would make either of those platforms into almost whatever you wanted.

That’s about what I was thinking minus the truck itself. I’m just thinking my Tacoma is probably close to being maxed out and it may be better to start a more capable/expendable project. Something dedicated to wheeling
