    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
order the JD kit and sell the TC. Getting the right angles is important. Shocks/suspension are consumables so trying to only buy once cry once doesn't apply unless its skipping BS retail-oriented aftermarket products. Mixing and matching is fine and does work, but you are paying for hardware that works best with the kit. Running a mixed bag of tricks will get you mixed results, so it'd be frustrating and still staring down buying new hardware to make the truck drive like you want.

Upper arm geometry for caster pulls the wheel back towards the firewall. While the kit can move the wheel forward, it’s best paired with an upper arm that doesn’t have caster built into it.

In your case, if you had the lca pivot kit with your set up, you’re going to exaggerate your caster if you push the tire forward with this kit. I can’t comment on these trucks with the use of higher than “normal” caster. I’ve never been able to see more than 3 on my truck. My tabs were pushed back.

I got my stock length TC LCA’s for 700 bucks which led me to this
    upload_2021-5-21_7-46-26.jpg

Then I put on the DMZ SUA which then led me to this
    upload_2021-5-21_7-47-26.jpg

Thankfully my front kit I’m taking off is sold and is covering about half the cost of this +4 kit and the 4 shocks going with it.

Harry just told me yesterday the shim is for CV clearance. Told me I don’t need them because I’m 2 wheel drive.

Same thing on the DK kit. Not talking shit, I have the DK kit with the shims and it is just fine, just trying to prevent the spread of misinformation.

    Too many to remember
But you are spreading mis information because the arm it’s self is sucked way up hence the pocket in the arm for the CV clearance. The spacers at the spindle end are for the Uniball to clear but from there our arms are built to maximize ground clearance. Without the pocket the arms would hang down 3” lower as you have to account for CV clearance at full droop

Yep exactly like that. BUT unlike the JD kit Dirt king along with all but MC have their arms go straight to the pivot thus loosing ground clearance over a stock control arm which was my point that you completely missed. Also you missed the part where I was talking about stock control arm lengths not LT. The benefits of the JD kit outweigh the loss of minimal GC. I went with JD because they suck the control arm up close to the CV as possible while also maximizing strength. Both of those ALL other manufacturers choose to either kill GC or loose compromise some strength. There was no misinformation in any of my statements. As it's kinda hard to compare a stock arm to a LT it's not even close to apples to apples

I think he forgot to read the whole thing and then see the context of the statements.

Didn’t think you were. I was just repeating what I was told and it looks like I may have failed at that.

What is the misinformation? I pointed out that you use spacers, just like other companies do. I have not discussed ground clearance in this thread, I was simply responding to the use of spacers.

Again, I said nothing about ground clearance, your comment about spacers implied that DK arms are "bad" b/c they use spacers, which drop the arms . . . just like the JD arms do.

I don't disagree that JD arms have more clearance, that's awesome, and I will probably get some down the road for that reason instead of the DK kit. JBFC.

If you use an aftermarket UCA to get that caster then no. That is unless you leave the upper arm alone and use JD's LCA Mounts to gain that caster back. After market uppers like TC simply move the UCA pivot rear towards the firewall to get your caster back after a lift.

    Nah.
Positive caster moves the LBJ forward of the UBJ, away from the firewall.
Negative caster (ick) would move the LBJ behind the UBJ, toward the firewall.
