Angle grinder to cut heads off with a cutting wheel. Flap disc for obvious reasons. Grinding stone to remove the majority of the remaining rivet once the hanger is removed.

****AIR HAMMER**** the most useful tool for this job. I won’t even try and do it again without one.

BFH. Helps to get the hanger off once the rivet head is cut.

Center drilling the rivets after the head is cut helps but not necessary. I’ve done it both ways.

Like was said above. I usually cut the head off, then use an air hammer to remove the hanger itself, then grind down the rivet to flush with the frame. Then I use the air hammer to pop them out. If they are stubborn and don't come out with the air hammer after a few goes, then I use a ball joint press. Drilling is a waste of time. You can also use a torch and just burn them out if you have one.

Lol even after reading this I'm still planning on sending you an email tonight. I have questions about what to buy for my rear end though so I'll justify my annoyance that way

I didn't have an air hammer, and second the ball joint press. It worked well for me to pop them out after cutting off the hanger and grinding them flat.

Drilling mine was quick work. Though grinding the head off them and a bfh was quicker.

Whatever works! If you have sliders though and are removing the front hangers, it can be pretty tricky getting a drill in there. Same with some high clearance rear bumpers

I didn’t do my front hangers yet. Just looked. Damn sliders. Looks like if I pull the bedsides I can do it.

second for the plasma, just grind the heads off then punch a hole with the plasma right thru the center of the rivet then they tap right out with a hammer. Easiest way I have ever done them.

I just picked up an air hammer for mine, been needing one for random shit. A plasma would be a nice upgrade in my life…

Here’s something to ruffle a few feathers-

I replaced my worn out cab mount bushings a while back and noticed it also raised my truck a bit (probably back to stock height). I also had even more clearance full stuff in the front…anyone see what dangerous land I’m about to venture into???

37’s would only need a wee bit more (1”) of clearance up top from my 35’s I’ve worked so hard to clear full stuff and lock. What’s so wrong with gaining some of that extra needed clearance from a small body lift? Drop the suspension down an inch to keep the center of gravity (improve really since most of your weight is not in the cab but what it’s connected to…) we need more droop around here anyways. Blast away and tell me what I’m missing.

I think @ovrlndkull was running a body lift on his truck, I don’t think a 1 inch would harm anymore than 37 lol!

But really, I’ve always heard people regurgitate body lifts are bad and give no explanation as to why. Sure, huge body lifts are probably a bad idea and ugly as hell. I’m talking about something 1/2”-1” that would be easily confused with a thick washer and help gain some up travel and tub a little less.

    That's the usual progression.

The lesson is: buy your MT kit used from someone going LT.
