You’ll need a second job. These trucks are so curvy it’s such a pain in the ass. Not sure Id be willing to do it for someone else. Plus don’t you fall into that overland category that doesn’t really drive fast enough to need it :boink: That’s why you said you didn’t need bypasses in the rear

We’ll said I had not thought about it before but def would be solid to build one in. Love how you have worked in your cages.

I believe in you, it just takes a little practice and there are some tricks to making it a lot easier. The hardest part is doing the main tubes in one shot as there 5 bends on 4 different planes

    All of them.
What would it cost about to have someone build a cage for a 3rd gen? Approximately

forgot to note. I would be interested in the front fenders when it goes down. What's the install like for those? (assuming I missed that post if it was noted)

Depends alot on what you want, to what spec, how intrusive to the cab, how much prep you do and the skills of the fabricator.

4x innovations makes a 2gen WIY cage for less than $1000. But its a fairly intrusive cage and personally i think it lacks some neccessary safety features.

A 3rd gen also has alot more electronics to work around, and hopefully you dont get any wiring gremlins when its all done.

I could easily see a cage costing 10k+.

And at the end of it your left with a truck that should only be driven with a helmet and harnesses. Youll have alot more vibrations and noise from everything being solid mounted to the cab. Daily driving or driving long distances arent going to be very enjoyable, so youll want a new truck and a trailer to haul it around.

If I recall, it involved drilling the spot welds holding the original inner fenders in, lining up the new ones and drilling through the mounting locations then bolting them in.

In my humble and limited opinion and from the perspective of someone in another part of the world- a caged IFS Tacoma would be a joke around here. That’s the wrong Toyota for the job.

Tacomaworld is like that because these are the minivans of the offroad world. This isn’t where people are hashing out ideas, it’s the land of raptor lights and spacer lifts to “clear” larger tires.

I love my Tacoma, but it will never be a hardcore rig in my mind no matter what shit I chop off or weld on. But it’s good enough to do everyday stuff and still hit some tougher trails with a little bit of help. The point of diminishing returns for the Tacoma is reached really quickly. That’s just my opinion and it may change tomorrow.

80% of people in here probably don’t drive fast enough. I’m personally one of these people. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want my chassis to work properly.

Good, please push this ideology. We’d rather not have Californians move here and turn our state to shit.

Yup, nothing but marriages to moms, sisters, and cousins here. Alabama is a terrible place. Keep the flow going to Texas.

At that point buying a Polaris rzr seems like the easier and smarter thing to do
