The problem with a WIY cage (that is tucked as good as the silver truck) is most people aren't going to want to lift and lower the cab so they can weld all the tubes. You are going to have to mock up the cage and then lower the tubes through the floor so you can weld the support tubes in place. It's going to be a lot of work that most people aren't going to want to deal with and if something does go wrong who gets the blame the guy who built the kit or the guy who did a poor install.

I’ve got some straps too that he provides with the kit. I was just curious about the 7.5” on an 8” coilover, wasn’t sure if that was standard somehow.

WIY always comes with the disclaimer 'Not Liable for your fuck-ups, this is an highly involved project that requires a very specific skillset. Install at your own risk.'
I mean the LCA pivots are pretty involved, not to the same extent, but it's easy to fuck up if you don't know what you're doing.

Sure, but the skills required to assemble and weld the LCA kit and a cage are vastly different. One of these jobs could be done by a fair amount of us with a welder in our garage/shop, the other I would only trust to a few guys on this whole site.

Have you seen the 4x cage yikes. Even I'd be worried in it. Nice one on the short jokes though.

Hell I almost fucked my truck up trying to dive into the 62 swap with little foresight (because I was excited and impatient). More or less I tried to pull everything apart and the leaf spring bolt seized in the bushing sleeve (as per always it seems...) and I had my truck stuck on jackstands till I could figure out how to cut a grade 8 bolt out and put the truck back on its wheels. Did I mention it was pouring rain when the forecast said it'd be sunny....
Anyways TL: DR it's easy to rush into these big projects and get in over your head if you're not careful.

The only other way to weld the top of the tubes besides leaning and lowering the legs through the floor would be to cut the roof off. Just raising and lowering the cab wouldn't get it. That's also why it's not for everyone just like all the other stuff they sell its much more advanced. You can either make things for the masses or you can make things for the true enthusiasts. JD is geared more towards the latter.

    Yes
very common problem with the 05-07’s the motor mounts were one of the frame changes made in either 07 or 08. i used solo motorsport motor mount gussets but the minute i opened the box felt stupid for spending the $ because i could have just templated and cut them out of plate myself. just three simple pieces to box in the motor mount that’s all it is.
