Lots of people run lockers. They just have to be cautious of turning when it’s engaged. Definitely can’t use it like you do on a Jeep or the similar

Oh so you mean like the lokka I ordered for the front and rear. Even with the open diff now there are plenty of times I could use a ram right now. So that statement isn't true. Guess like I said difference in wheeling style and type of wheeling.

Yeah, wouldn’t recommend that. You’ll break CVs all day long.

I already jump teeth and blow seals in a regular rack. Wheel gets locked can't move the wheel. And yes this happens even with a Howe pump. When your tire is hard locked into a hole or against a hard wall. I don't care what non ram assisted system you have you aren't budging it. Again differences in wheeling.

Just gotta be careful and carry spares I know a few people that locked the front with lunchbox style lockers. Hell I know someone who wheels with this ARB engaged as soon as he engages the 4wd.

I’m not saying people don’t do it, I’m saying I wouldn’t recommend it. That’s just my opinion. At least it sounds like you and your buddies are prepared.

I know guys who hit 4x every time they hit dirt, regardless of terrain. Everyone has different mentalities on how to do things. We don’t have to agree to be accurate.

The question is why does the steering get bound up? It’s not a question of pressure, the rack is bound up because of the side loading on the rack ends. As for differences in wheeling maybe you forget I have a rock buggy that I wheel trails no ifs Tacoma could ever get near so I’m very familiar with hard core steering setups, large tires and rocks the size of Volkswagen bugs

    4. 2 OEM, 1 Napa, 1 Oreilley. All except one was on the passenger side. When I got the rig in the garage I had a bent front diff mount, broken rear diff mount, and a bent ADD tube. That combo gave the passenger side CV an extra 1 1/2" of droop. That's why so many broke on the passenger side.

Since then I broke a bunch more. Then I ponied up for RCV CV's. In the year I've been running RCV's I have not had to change a single CV. In that year lots of hard wheeling got done.

Sounds like limit straps would make a good addition to your rig
