Just skimming pages, I don’t recommend notching the frame to anyone what so ever if staying with the stock bed.

    1. Everything rubs the higher you go.
2.you have to relocate all wiring, brackets and anything in the path of the axle housing, 3rd member or drive shaft.
    3. Axle upgrades are out of the question unless you want a big hole in the center of the bed and you want to open the notch even more.
    4. Last but not least you only gain an 1” to .5” of up travel with a slew of other problems to fix.

so either cage and link the rear or stick with a simple bed cage and spring under with no notch.

My thoughts on this as well. Although if you really want to there are kits out there for it.

I'm just sitting here wishing my 9 month wait was over...... This is going to be a fun build for me. 3rd gen conversion, color change and full LT.

I have a set of body panels for the conversion... you just need the hood, front doors and grill. Also our new inner fenders work for both second and 3rd Gen. they will make the swap really easy

Is it glass? With my offset, I definitely have to go with glass. So you're also saying 3rd gen stuff will bolt right up and I don't need to spend extra on the McNeil kit?

No stock fenders, and everything will bolt up. The front doors have different body lines to the fenders but everything else is the same

What lines are different on the front doors? Just the Flared area?

Yup, I see it now looking at pictures. Hopefully McNeil will answer the phone one of these days.

I need lots of luck then, because I've already done that. Makes me a little nervous to do business with a company like that, but I do really like the looks of their stuff.

FYI - Road Runner makes a 2nd gen to 3rd gen conversion kit, I think it is +4.5" ?

Yeah, I'm really not a fan of that one. Not sure what I don't like about it. Probably just going to order from McNeil and pray it shows up.

That could be part of it. But the McNeil lines are pretty damn awesome.

Hey man, I'm like 1.5 weeks behind on emails right now for customers, but we are so slammed that I spend all my time working on trucks and not on the computer. I feel bad, but there's only so much time in the day... Of course I'm wasting some of it on TW... I'm tired ok.

Hey, it’s not just you. Here in the great state of Michigan people are getting loads of free money to stay unemployed. 2 of us absolutely hammering at the shop right now and we can’t keep up. The hole just keeps getting deeper.
