I keep hitting stuff around here faster and faster and the truck keeps soaking it all up…I can safely say that has never happened before. It’s been a blast. I’m not able to get up to speed like you desert guys obviously, but just stuff I would normally go half as fast on is butter smooth and well mannered and planted.

 

A local heavy equipment place ordered me some double lip outer seals yesterday that I will be trying in the rack this time. They are meant for hydraulic cylinders that see far greater pressures than this rack ever will and also utilize a wiper. I feel pretty content trying that.

However, I still want to find a way to seal up that drivers side better. There is still 2 bearings that are 100% open if that side is not booted. But we may have come up with an idea yesterday on that. Attached are 2 pictures of the bearings I am talking about.

I really do want this slide rack to work out simply because it WORKS. It’s only lacking in a few areas, and if them things can be addressed, this will be the best option available.

Went to a leather welding coat and never looked back. I burnt myself wayyyyy to much doing the 62 swap. I've got a new set of scars.

 

I have lots of ideas, it’s just a matter of making them happen. After thoroughly dissecting the factory rack I firmly believe even more feedback can be removed. For instance, did you know there is a restrictor in the pressure side of the control valve? I’m betting there is lots to be had by simply messing with oriface size. OR by adding a flow control adjuster to the pump and eliminating the restrictor all together. You cannot tell me that factory restrictor is allowing full flow from that TC.

 

Me thinks some boost is in order
