Yeah man get you a strong good straight base then build from that. Good call! Plus gives you time to save for a LT kit and skip the whole mid travel woes

So it begins. I got everything disconnected and unbolted except for the gas neck. I know it’s not difficult, but my brain is done for the day. How does the gas neck come off? haha jeez :bananadead:

I turned around a 35mm socket and smacked it w/ a dead blow. Once you push the grommet through the body it’s loose.

Gotcha, I was thinking that plastic part below the cap unscrewed or popped off first.

Alright, bout to drop the tank. I disconnected the two connects to the charcoal canister and removed the neck bolt from the frame. Skid is off, so now I just place the jack in the center and undo the strap bolts? Am I missing anything? It’s half full so I’m really not wanting to dump it all over the place haha

The feed and return lines. disconnect them. Then put that tank outside away from where you're welding.

Have a transmission jack for stability to drop it?
Could use some straps to help lower slowly and evenly down.

Found them. Unsure how to get them undone though. Never seen anything like them.

No transmission jack just a floor jack. May strap a piece of plywood to it or something more ridiculous if I can manage

Good thinking, cab mounts already done. Aside from being filthy everything appears in good shape. Definitely glad it’s always been a southern vehicle. Going to clean up some wiring.

5 minutes Harry time is equivalent to my one hour. Maybe just because it was half full and I’ve never done it, but that’s been the worst part so far. Making these templates has been a breeze but I wish I had a plasma. I can’t wait to come back in a year or so and see what all nuts, bolts and stuff I’ve hidden. I keep finding more stuff to avoid covering completely

So I did a 1/4 inch plate across and took out the lower crossmember thing. Added some reinforcement plates to weld to the frame for a little extra strength. I am going to go off this to make my new front cab mounts I think. Then when I get lower pivots and a skid I can work form it into my new bumper. On a side note something that I noticed as I realized some stuffs tweaked from the accident. My driver front tire has an inch less gap to the fender. Just got it aligned. I’m starting the wonder if the bucket or something else is tweaked. All the new suspension went on fine but not sure if this is normal tolerances? I measured points on the frame and both buckets seem to be even.. ideas or advice?
