Mine says 100lbs so there's gotta be a bit more there lol. It's like being a little kid waiting for Santa. Except its waiting for a brown truck now.

I weighed my inner fenders a couple of months ago when I got mine…after I assembled them they weighed about 16 lbs each.

@81Trekker Is there any other upgrades to be made in order to run the slide rack?

I think he meant does he have to install any other supporting mods to make the slide rack work.

No sir but as I’ve said before the pump is the single best thing you can do to a Tacoma

Upgrades to steering? Yes! YOU MUST do the Howe steering pkg. For me it was a big change in the steering feel and took close to a week to adjust to it. But it is so nice to have the light weight feel now compared to stock. And that includes going from stock with a 265/75/16 SL tire to a 285/75/17 E tire at the same time.

@81Trekker I didn’t see tracking for mine. Did you still want to plan a time for me to come down for the slide rack and pick up my other stuff?

Can’t stress this enough. Quality of life off-road is off the charts with the Howe pump. Its one of those mods you wonder why the hell you took so long to do it.

What about if you only do lite mountain trails for the most part? Where would you prioritize this mod compared to like going from mid-travel to long?

My opinion would be if you went up in tire size regardless of which suspension route you go.

Is that true only for a certain generation of Tacoma? I have a first gen, running 35s (and long travel) and I still have the stock pump... I mean it hasn't failed obviously so what is the huge advantage?

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
This. If it came down to only keeping one thing from JD mods, the Howe ps pump and slide rack is the one. Incredible. Bump steer what? Yea. Do it.

The Howe pump kit that JDFab did is for the 2nd gen. There is constant and jarring feedback into the steering wheel while off-roading and hitting shit with the stock pump. That is all gone with the Howe pump. It also lightens up the steering effort dramatically. It use to be work steering this pig in the dirt…now it’s just an enjoyable ride.

I’d do this pump if I was driving a mall crawler. Do this….drive over a speed bump a little faster than normal and see how the steering wheel jumps in your hand….now imagine that never happening again. Now imagine going down a dirt road at speed and never feeling the wheel bumping around in your hands. It takes the work away.
