I’ve been using these for the longest time. A nice middle ground of dexterity and heat resistance for grabbing hot metal.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078PJK3W3

If you want more dexterity but less heat protection, I’ve used these in the past as well.

Edit: it did take me a few tries to find the gloves that suit me best, it’s all about personal preference.

The key is having multiple pairs, some are greasy beaters, some are for mig welding and always have a fresh pair for tig welding!

Got them put together as much as I can until I get time again this weekend to put them on. Got to weld the mounting tabs still and do some touch ups after. The 3d drawings helped a lot to have a picture reference. Well thought out package Harry!

Can some of you guys measure from the bottom of your frame bump pad to the top of the axle’s spring perch? Before I dial some stuff in I want to make sure I haven’t totally miscalculated or moved my ride height. Most of us are probably around the same lift, so just getting a ballpark consensus.

I like my mechanics gloves a lot! They are thinner but a lot nicer leather overall.

Top of axle tube to bottom of frame rail on a stock truck is 8.25”. Should be a good point of reference to build off of.

I use a combo of armored up mechanix gloves (grinding/general fab non hot work), the miller metalworker gloves for light MIG welding and the thick leather ones if I have to do a bunch of welding. I have burnt holes through both the leather and Miller gloves, I have come to the conclusion that gloves are consumable items.

I kinda dig this no tracking and stuff just showing up! Brightened my Monday up!

Only question, were the spring plates supposed to be with this or are they coming separately?

    They are on the way.

Also if you guys have questions about specific orders please call the shop, email me or PM me. I can’t keep track of every comment made on a public forum and I don’t want your questions going unanswered

Me whoring out another pic of my truck under the guise of sharing info. 2.25 kit with 3.5” backspacing/9” wide wheels on 35s. This is the poke you get with no glass and no fender flares. The pic finally captured the thiccness and wanted to share.

Definitely looks crazy and throws shit all on the side of the truck, but for what I use the truck for and how I’m constantly bashing into trees, glass wouldn’t survive.

Do your rears stick out enough that you’re blowing mirrors out? I blew out 2 sets last year before I said “I’ll wait until I have fiberglass to replace again”. Nothing quite like cruising a dirt road listening to rocks whizz by.
