@81Trekker spring perches welded on too? Will our pinion angles have to be changed by shims if needed or what’s the solution there?

Thanks for looking out but I've got something else in the works. Still a 9 though.

The way I read it is they are providing ready to go housings with all the bells and whistles for you to implement into your specific application, thus they leave off all the stuff that would be specific to an individual or group of applications.

I just bought one. We will test it on our trucks. I want to figure a solution for the 4x2 and still being able to fully delete the abs. If we can pull any wheel speed sensor and use it for the speedo input with the Dakota digital box.

Might be less of a headache for the 4x4s too.
I had guessed even if I got the VSS off the t case, it will most likely read off true speed and I would need the Dakota box or hyper tech box anyways to correct speed difference. If the Dakota box works out, there’s not even a need for the VSS off the T case.

If you could package in a way where it just plugs into existing harnesses somewhere then it'd sell with these pretty well. Would be interesting to trace wiring back from the wheel speed sensors and see where and what it all hooks into and talks to.

The wheel speed sensors all end at abs pump(skid ecu) at least what we were seeing on paper.

It talks to the other computers via can bus from there to share the signals.

This may already be known but the only input I can add is that on earlier V6 second gen 4x4 manual trans, the speed is already pulled from the transfer case output from the factory. So for those with trucks like mine it would make the process a bit easier.

That's so weird that they do that. It took 3 WSS dead before my truck didn't have speedo.

You all realize you can put the early 2nd gen style speed sensor in the T-case right? If anybody needs wiring diagrams feel free to hit me up. I have access to diagrams for everything.

It was all posted in that link on the last page pretty thoroughly. I just wanted to clarify that some trucks are like that from the factory in case that wasn’t realized yet by everyone.

I kinda skim read a lot of over thinking so I passed that up. My bad.

With that said. It is possible to get rid of communication codes related to losing the ABS pump. I’ve got that stuff documented but it is fairly involved. Been trying to find some time to do a thorough write up on the ABS delete as I’ve had several ask about it now.

That would be helpful no doubt. The more we can help each other on these issues the better. It all comes down to the fact that JDFab just isn’t setup to field and solve all the questions and multiple configurations that are out there on Tacomas. Personally just keeping my Speedo and not throwing the P0500 code is good enough for me. But others may want more and if we can do that great. But everyone that decides to purchase this rear end just has to remember that they are on their own when it comes down to the electronics and the third member.
Speaking of which here’s a link to a reputable shop to purchase a 3rd member.

I’ve been poking at the booster mounted ABS stuff a little bit as well. From what I’ve seen, it should be entirely possible to swap out to a normal master and ditch all of that as well. Though, I don’t have anybody local interested in doing that delete.

In my personal opinion, ABS needs to go on these trucks anyways. Once you start playing with big tires and heavier trucks the system just isn’t adequate enough and becomes a hazard more than anything.

If anybody needs diagrams, feel free to shoot me a message and I will get you what you need.

I have a dakota box as a speedometer corrector because the regear threw my speedo off so much. It's a nice little unit.

You have the Bluetooth one? It's so nice being able to adjust as you drive. I forget what the first one I tried was but it didn't even work.

No, I have its predecessor which is hardwired. It's dialed though, my speed is dead nuts accurate.
