I rub this as well at full stuff but only on REAL hard full stuffs in the whoops. It keeps it shiny so it doesn’t bother me too much. Doesn’t contact at lock and stuff otherwise for me on 35x12.5x17 with -25 offset

My headlights are only held on by the top 2 bolts the other 2 tabs broke a long time ago from the core support ripping apart and frame flexing. It's been like that for a couple years now no issues.

my headlights are only held on by 1 of the upper tabs and the lower. The fiberglass never fit to the first tab On top. I’m going to cut it all off, I have some ideas for mounting the headlights and glass.

funny you mention it...I've been telling Harry for a while that I hate the way our headlights lock onto the lip of the fender and I have been wanting to toss them, fill in the fenders where the headlights wrap around the sides and run some round headlights. Would be pretty easy to glass a section of headlight trim to go from the edge of the grill to the fender and mount a round headlight to the core support with some brackets...

So you guys just take off that stupid black crossbar thing that the headlights and grill mount to? I hate how it looks with the open tube bumper.

I’m still using mine for headlights and holding the grill from flopping around. I want to ditch it

Yes, you can trash it and cut the corner of the inner fender. Then you can push your lower arms the full 1 7/8” forward

Yeah it looks like it wouldn’t be too hard to make your own at least an attachment point or two for the grill. Curious to look into what @xweslingx said. I don’t like the bubble look of the headlights either.

I don’t need another project but I’ve been heavily looking into this and if possibly some JL headlights could work without the whole thing looking like a teenager on drugs did it. Here is something similar in a 3rd gen 4Runner I came across. D478F4F2-A780-44F1-AC10-092116A1E5FA.jpg

That's pretty cool. If I were pushing the front end really far forward I'd definitely do that. Butttt.............. I do have those inner fenders and will have the front end torn down to nothing but the engine left on the front end sooooooo.........maybe.....

let me know when you do. I can come lend a hand. I’ll be welding in a rear bumper and front diff mount support this coming weekend. Hopefully the LCA pivots on the following one.

 Kinda does look like a teenager on drugs did it. I bet if you took the time on it, there is a way you can make it look better. Those headlights definitely look disproportionate.
