Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

That’s exactly it. An experienced driver is almost always going to be easier on parts. You can whip a 9” in these trucks and still grenade them if you’re an idiot.

It’s funny, I’ve watched identically built big HP cars. One runs all weekend every weekend, wins often and rarely messes things up. The other car can’t make a full weekend without blowing something apart, doesn’t even come close to running the same times etc. Driver one knows how to drive, driver two not so much.

When you’re pushing the limits on ANY platform driver mod is a necessity.

 

yea, the one kid in the neighborhood here, its a 1st gen Tundra. With the Coil overs maxed, no droop left if any and self admits to jamming it up and just more and more skinny pedal. Uh, no shit your breaking diffs everytime. He'll learn eventually I hope.

 

If its any consolation....none of my diffs broke on the trail. Always on the street.....though 1 coulda broke on the trail and I just didnt notice it till I was 50 miles down the highway. My issue is its always in the back of my mind bangin on the whoops

 

It all comes down to drive mod. When i first got a front locker, i had 10 guys telling me to never turn while using it. Driving with it on and a stock rack was always difficult, but i only ever broke 1 cv axle. Now with full hydro i forget that its on alot of the time and have continued pushing the truck further than it should be. Ive broken 2 oem cv axles with the hydro.
Dont be an idiot and throttle though things when your bound up.

 

Last night I was on a new climb I cut here at the house hitting the rev limiter dual locked, bumping it and rocking it. Totally forgot I had the front locked, but luckily everything was soup from the rain haha

I have found myself giving less fucks than ever since it’s trailered and I can literally wheel in my backyard. So I’ll probably start being the idiot that breaks shit unnecessarily, but I’ll know why at least

 

Most of us that i wheel with trailer, but we all have learned to wheel smart. We break plenty of cv axles and random shit that a 3/4mile long trail takes us majority of the day with our group size. No one wants to be pulling a 5000lb truck back through a trail because he blew up his front end. Trust me ive done it, luckily there was a bypass road next to the trail.

Im surprised the sherpa racing guys havent blown up more front diffs, but they are only running 35s.

 

I’ve only been to one park since linking it and I wheeled harder than I ever have, but it was much more calculated and careful if that makes sense. Out of the group there was one broken cv, maybe a front locker, broken engine mounts, rear diff, and a yoke. Everyone limped back down the mountain on their own though.

Wheeling at home has been a good playground to push it a little bit harder because I know I can drag it out with the tractor or another truck. Unfortunately, it’ll probably cause some carelessness like last night and I’ll eventually pay the price.

But yeah, shit’s not a rock bouncer and can only handle so much haha try telling that to @ovrlndkull though

 

Yea, if you can wheel in your own yard and if you bust it. Its just a walk to the house to regroup. Then, ya able to say F it and push the limits.

 

The real thrill is being on two wheels sliding sideways on the tractor with the giant death machine bush hog going on cutting some main trails haha talk about puckering up

 

I rock bounce when the occasion calls and crawl when it calls. Plus I never said do the dumb shit I do. I know Taking my truck down 1/2 the shit I've taken it down I was pushing the not if but when something was going to break, which I'm surprised it took that long.

 

Are you shortening your wheelbase at any point? I still have my silver bed if you want it. I don’t know if it works like that with the frame, but it’s become a bucket for factory parts I chopped off so my wife would love to see it go.

 

Just a heads up guys I have multiple sets of 2nd/3rd Gen specific King 8” coilover in stock as well as 2.25 and 4” long travel kits. I will not sell the shocks separate from the kits but if you buy shocks and a kit together we can knock $200 off the total price

They’re yours just take some trash with you I lopped 2-3 inches off of them though.

Anyone have strong opinions on grease for these guys? I just ran out of my royal purple #2 which seemed to work fine, but I wasn’t sure if there was anything more appropriate.
